DaveinElma Posted October 18, 2010 Posted October 18, 2010 (edited) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Serbian_Film Tim Anderson of the horror review site "Bloody Disgusting" likened the movie to "having [his] soul raped" and dissuaded anyone reading his review from ever seeing it, writing: "If what I have written here is enough to turn your feelings of wonder into a burning desire to watch this monstrosity, then perhaps I haven't been clear enough. You don't want to see Serbian Film. You just think you do." Screenwriter Srdjan Spasojevic has responded to the controversy with "This is a diary of our own molestation by the Serbian government... It's about the monolithic power of leaders who hypnotize you to do things you don’t want to do. You have to feel the violence to know what it’s about." Trailer (Probably NSFW) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W0zPbwuKANU High-minded allegory for the Yugoslav Wars or just an attempt to cash in on the "torture porn" craze of movies like Hostel. And if Im in a really demented mood might even take a 1st date!! double ... lol! Could you imagine talking a woman to that movie on a first date? How many minutes before she runs out of the theatre screaming?
Rob's House Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 WTF is wrong with people? The one who spoke of how "intelligent" the movie is reminds me of the SouthPark where they write a dirty book for shitts and giggles and the pretentious book critics are mesmerized with the deep satirical meaning of it all.
TheMadCap Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 Violence against children is fukin abhorant. I am all for free speach or artistic licence, but I wouldn't be upset if they got rid of this kind of thing from movies and tv...
bbb Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 Confronting the final bodyguard, Miloš knocks off his sunglasses and discovers that the man is missing an eye. He tries to shoot him but finds out that the gun is empty. Miloš jams his erect penis into the man's empty eye socket, killing him. I think I might have some performance anxiety issues at that point...

bbb Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 Thanks for spoiling the ending .... Oh, come on - that is the most predictable move in the movies. It happens so often it's now a cliche.

bbb Posted October 21, 2010 Posted October 21, 2010 There's got to be a defensive maneuver to counter the Tae Kwon Dong move.
DaveinElma Posted October 22, 2010 Author Posted October 22, 2010 So has anyone see this thing yet? I found a link to the movie but I don't know if I have the stomach to watch it. I was even cringing at the trailer.

I am all for free speach or artistic licence, but I wouldn't be upset if they got rid of this kind of thing from movies and tv... I agree about violence, but not about the censorship. Have you ever seen Precious? Great movie -- with violence against a child, but not violence for the sake of violence. Very compelling movie.
