Good call on watching Gabe Carimi. I've watched several Wisconsin games this year and have been really impressed with him. Most draft "experts," however, don't view Carimi as an elite OT prospect. In fact, most information I've read projects him as playing RT on Sundays. They say he lacks the athleticism and technique to be a true LT in the NFL. Tonight will be a true test for him, as Heyward is as good as it gets at DE in college football. I haven't seen much of Newton, but I see that he is flying up draft boards.
dayman Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Newton not an NFL QB. Seems to have turned himself into a good college QB...but watch today you'll see we certainly don't want him...or shouldn't...
High Mark Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Cabrmi may end up inside in the NFL, but RT is more likely his home. Not really an LT. HIm playign the big and physical Heyward should be a great test. Looking forward to that game. PS Newton and Pryor are not much of NFL QBs. I cant imagine either having more success than a Dennis Dixon. I would love to get Pryor at WR though.
/dev/null Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Mallet knocked out of game against Auburn. No details yet
leper65 Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 (edited) Head injury is all Petrino would say...better than a shoulder or arm I guess. Edited October 16, 2010 by leper65

Sisyphean Bills Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Seems to look pretty decent to me. They can always try him as a TE or DE if he can't play QB.
DrDawkinstein Posted October 16, 2010 Author Posted October 16, 2010 It's a concussion for Mallett. Hopefully nothing too bad and they are just being cautious. Yikes Newton put on a good showcase, but I dont think he'll be much an NFL QB either.
The Senator Posted October 16, 2010 Posted October 16, 2010 Mallett reminds me of Jim Kelly - concussions and all.
High Mark Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 Pretty impessed with Carimi tonight. He seemed to handle Heyward just fine. I think if you could rely on him at RT it could really helkp your OL as a whole. Him or Love falling in the 2nd could help us a lot.
John from Riverside Posted October 17, 2010 Posted October 17, 2010 Carimi is exactly the type of player the bills should take....with the 1st pick of the 2nd round. Then shift him over to Right Tackle. Bell on the left....Carimi on the right....problem solved. Too bad about Mallett

DrDawkinstein Posted October 17, 2010 Author Posted October 17, 2010 Did I miss something? Is it more serious than a concussion? No, but you hate to see our top prospect sustain an injury of any kind.
