DrDawkinstein Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 $1 BILLION That is how much the NFL would lose, even if played with replacement players. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/shutdown_corner/post/Labor-update-NFL-could-lose-1-billion-in-a-loc?urn=nfl-276779 http://www.myfoxtampabay.com/dpp/sports/nfl/nfl-says-lockout-could-bring-grim-financial-losses-ncx-101310
Bflojohn Posted October 13, 2010 Posted October 13, 2010 Yeah, I heard you, but think of ALL the egos involved! The owners are going to try and get that 60% figure down, where the players "earn" 60% of the gross revenues. The issues are real, and the spectre of antitrust lawsuits looms LARGE, IMO. It is entirely possible they will kill the goose that laid the golden egg, watch and see. As a matter of fact I think revenue sharing amongst the owners, the draft, and forms of restricted free agency could be things of the past. This alone is reason to worry in Western New York. Professional football, as we know it now, will look vastly different soon! I think the precursor for this is the union decertification votes and the charges of collusion aginst the NFL by the NFLPA. Ripples in the water? I sure hope so....but highly doubt!!
cåblelady Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 Will save me about $1000 You must have the "good" seats.....although I must admit my seats in the tunnel endzone are just fine.
Phil Hansen Forever Posted October 14, 2010 Posted October 14, 2010 It's not like the players actually have brains, or earned a degree outside of basket weaving. The game is about making money and they will go to great lengths to keep it. Not too bright, but not losing money, isn't making it either.
