Damian Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 So who had to think for a bit to answer the topic question? This makes 4 games in a row we have had 30+ points scored on us, our run defense is the worse I can remember seeing, we have no pass rush, etc. How much worse does the Bills defense have to play for us to at least get a new defensive coordinator during the bye week? BTW, our defensive coordinator is George Edwards, whose awesome resume includes spending the last 5 years as the linebackers coach for Miami prior to being made our defensive coordinator.
\GoBillsInDallas/ Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 Our Defensive Coordinator is who? No, Who played the halftime of last year's Super Bowl.
Phil Hansen Forever Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 I know who we have, but I wonder if he shows up for games. We don't have a defense, we have a sponge...porous and easily absorbs and releases the flood.
Lofton80 Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 Every trip to the red zone, the opponent finds the middle of the field wide open. The isolation on Kelsay is automatic as well. Think we might plan for those trends after 5 weeks.

Technically he was hired by the University of Florida as DC under Urban Meyer, but left/turned it down to take the job in Buffalo.
paulmm3 Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 In addition to our joke of a run defense, someone needs to figure out how to stop tight ends on passing plays. Fasano, Finley, Gronkowski, Keller, and today even f#@$&(# Marcedes Lewis have eaten us alive.
silvermike Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 There is no reason right now to think that George Edwards is a legit NFL defensive coordinator. He hasn't done it before, and he hasn't done it in Buffalo. Any thoughts on who's out there? Any defensive coaches likely to be fired?

IF you look at our stats under him, TEs rarely destroyed us. It's a weekly occurrence now, but when Kelsay's dropping into coverage what do you expect.

Maybe Wade Phillips will bw fired at Dallas and he could come here as DC.

BTW, our defensive coordinator is George Edwards, whose awesome resume includes spending the last 5 years as the linebackers coach for Miami prior to being made our defensive coordinator. He is horrible...first time in franchise history we have allowed 30+ points in 4 straight games, and perhaps his worst indictment is that he turned a secondary that was 2nd in he NFL in interceptions and across the board in every passing category ranked in top 5, usually in the top 3 in most, and turned it into a unit just as bad as the run defense. You can't come in and take an obvious strength and turn it into a weakness if you want to keep your job long in the NFL...
Gabe Northern Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 Technically he was hired by the University of Florida as DC under Urban Meyer, but left/turned it down to take the job in Buffalo. Why did he leave for Florida? Because he was pushed out in Miami. That's right, the guy we selected to be our defensive coordinator could not hold on to the job of INSIDE linebacker's coach of the Dolphins.
Miyagi-Do Karate Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 Technically he was hired by the University of Florida as DC under Urban Meyer, but left/turned it down to take the job in Buffalo. Ahhh....so he has bad judgment, as well. Nice.
BuffaloBillsMagic1 Posted October 10, 2010 Posted October 10, 2010 Every team we play their TE looks like Kellen Winslow in his prime. Kelsay is useless. Torbor sucks. How I yearn for the old Tampa 2 defense i used to loathe.

When your head coach was most recently fired in-season from his coordinator job, and not considered for any coordinator openings, what do you expect?

Affirmative action is necessary to correct the mistakes of the past.
