Let's try this again. Hopefully it doesn't get sidetracked

So where were we...

Oh, that's right. Tell us again why you called that cartoon factually accurate? I keep waiting for a simple answer, and can only assume you're working really hard on putting that together, no?

Dude I have no idea what you are trying to get at. I've tried to answer this ridiculous request to the best of my abilities. I've linked to sites and stories that explain the cartoon fully, I've explained it myself to you. I cannot do any more to help you here. You are on your own.

Ok, but !@#$ the Democratic party, they can rot in hell.

No. !@#$ the idiots who have taken the Democratic party so far off its message and it's traditional values that it has become unrecognizable. Democrats have inexplicably, and inexcusably, given up their #1 issue: "The economy, stupid!" That's stupid alright.

You understand that right now I think Clinton would have been a better President than both McCain and Obama, right? Why? Because she is about winning, including everybody, because she is really about staying in power.

Tools like you are the reason the Democratic party is where it is. Change the behavior. Don't blame everybody else. Get back to REALLY representing the middle class, all of it, and things will get better. Keep pushing this enviro-socialist UN extortion racket, victimhood = entitlement, gay/femninazi agenda, which has little to do with the middle class, and things will get worse.

Every Democrat has to make this choice, and the results they get will be determined by it. Christ, listen to James Carville and Pat Caddell->he was on Nixon's enemies list...good enough for you?

Actually, virtually ALL you do is link to sites and stories because you are unable to generate any original thought on your own. You said it was factually accurate. Then you dumped some stories about campaign finances, which has nothing to do with why anyone would find that cartoon factually accurate. That probably earns you a chair in Romper Room, but here it just adds to the perception that you're an idiot.

Maybe the lesson for you conner is simple. If you are unable to actually create an opinion on your own, then don't offer it up. Resist the temptation to copy/paste thoughts from your DailyKos-type outlets and post them here as your thought.

The dems have traditional values? What is it, smoke weed and put hippy flowers in their ears?

Obama is helping the middle class. That is why you hate him so much, your corporate overlords have commanded you to do so. I can't stand Carville, or Clinton they are part of the problem, not solutions.

I link to sites, because my opinion has no weight here, and I want to back my positions up with actual data. Unlike all of you people who just shovel crap at me (see OC's posts in this thread for examples) and want me to take you serious.

Here's a tip: when you make a statement and are asked to explain or defend it, try first explaining or defending it and THEN providing a link to support your thought. When you skip the first step in that process, you end up with the perception that your opinion has no weight here...a perception so factually accurate that even you admit it.

We should tax the hell out of sugar, nicotine and alcohol.

We should tax fast food restaurants.

We should give tax breaks for restaurants that offer strictly low carb, low sugar etc. menus.

We should give tax breaks for organic food products.

We should invest more in healthier living and exercise.

Give tax breaks to companies that offer healthy cafeterias and exercise locations at work.

I'm hoping this is either a big joke or that Conner hacked your user name.

I love it when pragmatists, in the name of the greater good, take it upon their god damned busy body selves to tell me what is and isn't good for me, and spank me when I'm bad. Not to mention half the stuff on your list is just straight up fuking retarded.

As far as fast food, Penn & Teller did a great job of exposing a couple of other dipshits who fancied themselves qualified to make decisions for others, you should check it out. Organic food is for hippies and aholes; it is not any healthier than the food in your regular grocery. And putting exercise locations at work sounds like the kind of b.s. you hear idealistic den mother types kicking around; get real.

And we alrady tax the hell out of sugar, nicotine, and alcohol. Enough of this **** already.

Since I posted a thread (maybe 3rd time ever), I'll reply to one.

1) Legalize pot or at least decriminalize it

2) Put troops on our border

3) Drug test all government aided citizens

4) Tort reform

5) Eliminate lobbying

6) Recognize gay-marriage

7) Take religion out of government, schools

8) Tax churches

9) As a final act, they would empower state governments who would roll out a plan to empower local governments and citizens

10) Stay out of our lives...forever.

No, tool, the things that JFK fought for. The things that unions USED to stand for. This comment simply confirms the fact that Democrats like you have no clue what being a Democrat is all about.

Obama is helping the middle class.

By pushing a health care abortion that will raise their insurance rates, or strip them of health care altogether? By doing NOTHING to fix the economy? By doing everything that doesn't help the middle class? Who do you think is out of a job/underemployed right now? The college professors? The trial lawyers? The government employee union bosses? The limousine liberals in Manhattan? The government administration people? No. The middle class is bearing the burden here, and they are doing it so the leftist special interests get their political and financial pay-offs.

That is why you hate him so much, your corporate overlords have commanded you to do so.

I don't hate Obama. I don't hate anybody. I am not you, and your ridiculous President hating derangement syndrome belongs to you alone. I am about performance. Pelosi's/Reed's since 2006 has been piss poor, and therefore, it's moving day. This election is about Congress, not Obama. We'll see how Obama peforms. He still has 2 years to get his act together.

I can't stand Carville, or Clinton they are part of the problem, not solutions.

Then prepare for 20 more years of losing, especially if a certain governor from Indiana gets runs for President in 2012. You won't even listen to one of the key guys that got Clinton elected, and re-elected. Carville doesn't know what he is talking about? Clinton sucks?

I link to sites, because my opinion has no weight here,

Because as LA says, you can't compose an original thought. And, like I say, you aren't familiar with the material we talk about. You have demonstrated your lack of knowledge on so many subjects I lost count long ago. You consistently demonstrate your lack of critical thinking skills, and grasp of logic, almost every time you post. You keep getting shellacked, because you keep falling into one logic trap after the next.

You want us to respect your opinion? STOP getting your opinion from internet hack sites and MSNBC. READ something authoritative, learn it, and then base something, anything, you say on that understanding. You are screaming for education, go get some. If you care about all this stuff so much, go figure out how it actually works for real, for yourself, and then go do it for a living.

Unlike all of you people who just shovel crap at me (see OC's posts in this thread for examples) and want me to take you serious.

The problem conner, is that you don't honestly know if I am shoveling crap at you or not. Think about that.

You have no idea. I could tell you that rent control makes apartments cost more, or cost less, or has no effect, and you wouldn't really know which one is true. I could tell you that 2 standard deviations = 20%. I could tell you that raw data collection is the single biggest problem in Health Care IT. You wouldn't know anything about any of it.

But worst of all, I could tell you that monkeys are used to determine the Fed's funds rate, and as long as the monkeys were far-left Democrats who hate Clinton, you would agree with me.

Fixed. I am just tired of the gov'ment being around. I live in the South and wish we'd seceede again. Before anyone says slavery, I remind you the other issues. We are a country of united states. The points I made have sound reason. I would explain them all, but it would be too long, so I will briefly mention a few.

Legalizing/decriminalizing pot would save thousands, stop criminal enterprises, and stop a lot of trouble at the border. (I've never smoked pot or wanted to, in full disclosure.)

Taking religion out of schools would help a lot of students. We need to focus more on math and science as it is. I think it's too easy to earn an "A" now-a-days, anyway.

Why don't we tax churches as it is? The Catholic church is the largest land owner in the world and they make huge profits off the public. I see nothing wrong with taxing them.

No, it's not a joke.

Unlike most other mindless drones that take their marching orders from the conservative cable news networks talking points maestros such as Hannity and Beck, I march to the beat of my own drum.

I don't like the idea of excess spending or taxes, but that doesn't mean every tax or form of spending is BAD. I believe in lower taxes in most cases and I believe in much less spending, but there are major problems that need to be fixed.

I am for common sense solutions, and in my view taxes are not only meant to raise revenues but to alter behavior, and we have a serious problem with health care costs....

The question is how do we really bend the cost curve in health care spending? Fortunately the good lord up above gave me a remarkable ability to analyze things, not that this is something difficult to figure out.

If you want to bring down health care costs, you don't focus on the one's who provide coverage or lawyers or anything of that sort, you focus on the human body. It is the human body and the toxins that it ingests that produce higher health care costs.

We are in the 21st century now, and health care costs are rising through the roof and it is largely because of the things that we consume. Only a complete idiot or someone who simply doesn't care about their health or an idealogically driven neanderthal would fail or not care to see this.

It's about incentives and deterring those who contribute to rising health care costs. Cigarretes are poison along with Alcohol. They are legal, but they kill people and contribute heavily to health care costs, and in many cases on the dime of the taxpayer. So even though you take the typical conservative approach of "DON'T TAX ME, I'M SICK OF IT!!, bla bla bla" I say tax the **** out of these industries, along with the unhealthy food providers who help contribute to obesity, blood pressure issues and heart problems and that way not only will that person spend less in health care costs, but in the long run, the taxpayer will end up paying less taxes then the status quo.

No one is telling you not to eat this garbage or smoke and drink these products, just that you will have to pay more for it. At the end of the day, we will have a healthier society, LESS TAXES as a result of lower healthcare costs and I bet you dollars to donuts that this would alter these fast food companies to innovate new food products that would be just about as tasty but much healthier.

It's time to get out of the 20th century and look ahead. Backwards thinking will keep us where we are.

This is what you call being able to think outside of the box and having foresight.

I'm stunned. I've seen you write some fairly intelligent posts in the past, but this is just dumb. Your brilliant analysis sounds like it was written by a 3rd grader. If I've got it right, you and the rest of the enlightened (i.e. government) will, for my own good of course, force me to pay more for things I want and force me to subsidize things that are pointless?

I'm guessing the ends will justify the means, and the fact that none of the garbage you listed will do jack sht to curb health care costs is irrelevant. The fact that cigarettes and alcohol are taxed beyond belief already is irrelevant too, I'm sure.

No offense, but it wasn't that it was written like a third grader, the level of comprehension was that of a third grader.
