Vikings: Smith facing four-game suspension The News Vikings' running back Onterrio Smith faces a four-game suspension for violating the NFL's substance-abuse policy. A team source told KFAN.com that Smith had been found in violation of the league policy a third time, which automatically triggers a suspension, pending an appeal. Smith tested positive for marijuana after being recruited to the University of Tennessee and was subsequently thrown out of the program. He transferred to Oregon, but a few weeks before the 2001 season began he was arrested for drunken driving.
