ThrillIsGone Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Were definately better off w/out Marshawn. Freddy J is a bettter all pourpose back, and this allows CJ more touches. Marshawn didn't want to be here, he'll grow tired in seattle as well. We need players that want to be here and work, not players that come into camp out of shape and use the first couple games of the regular season to get their lungs and legs under them. We need as many draft picks as possible because the problem on this squad isn't the coach or the GM, but it's a lack of on field personell (AKA FOOTBALL PLAYERS)! We need to get big and fast quick and the only way to do that is through the draft. We can no longer try and reach for draft picks (Undersized Overachievers), we need physical players that can come in the game and contribute. Hopefully, Maybin gets the slice, & Lee gets put on the block. God is Love, Love is Pain. Go Buffalo!
todd Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 This is hilarious. The Bills just got another draft pick by trading away a back with off the field issues AND at a position that we have more depth than we can use. Given the fact that the Bills don't get many FAs, and most good teams historically are built through the draft, we need all the draft picks we can get. Given that we won't be successful this year with or without Lynch, why is this trade bad? Or is it just another opportunity to whine?
Mopreme Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Considering Denver gave up a 4th round pick for Maroney, disappointed that the Bills didn't do better. Let's hope that conditional pick sneaks up into the 2nd round...
Albany,n.y. Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 This is just another straw in the hat of mental retardation of this franchise. Marshawn runs harder than anyone has on this team in a long time. If he only gained 2 yds it still took half the defense to bring him down. Typical move by this sorry excuse of an NFL franchise, giving up on players way too soon without giving them enough a fair shot. Jackson got dinged in the pre-season so it probably won't be long before he is useless. Great move guys. I hope Marshawn tears it up in Seattle and shows how much talent was going to waste here in Buffalo. And we get a future 4th rounder? What an absolute joke! His last season was going to be 2011 anyway. There was no way he was re-signing after that. It's not like Marshawn is a choirboy. One bad move & he's probably suspended for a year. He had no great value due to 1+ years left on his contract and his off the field stuff. So getting a 4th rounder plus a possible 5th or 6th was the best they could do. There was no room for the 3 RBs, so even if he tears it up in Seattle, it doesn't hurt the Bills. It helps them if he does because then we get a higher pick in 2012.
Wayne Cubed Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Its funny, people say things like we dont have any talent, and getting talent through the draft is the way to go, so thats why this trade it good. Im sorry if i dont understand this logic, you take someone who has talent to start here and on other football teams(lynch) and trade him for a fouth and possibly 5th round guy who may or may not even end up on the field. So we traded a proven person, for a couple question marks.

Doesn't actually inspire confidence in this team to draft wisely. It feels like we just gave him away right now.
catsnbills Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Buddy Nix is one of the great philanthropic humanitarians in the NFL. He has blessed both Trent Edwards and , now, Marshawn Lynch with tickets out of Buffalo. And he hardly even knew either of those guys, but he respected them enough to get them to teams that they will actually have fun playing for. He must just love California kids! And he has not asked for hardly anything in return. Both of those players had to be singing out loud, skipping and dancing to the airport. A first and third round pick, both of whom will be solid contributors, if not team leaders, on their new teams - and win games!. Buddy for sainthood! Buffalo should be proud of its GM!

It feels like we just gave him away right now. No argument there, however we do have a new GM who has drafted pretty well himself. So the way I see it there is reason for optimism.
