billsfreak Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 (edited) To Seattle for a 4th rounder pick in 2011 and some sort of conditional pick If that doesn't tell you how clueless this new regime is, than you are in a coma. Seattle tried to give Buffalo a 3rd round pick during the 2010 draft, but the Bills wanted a 2nd rounder-at least. So now they end up sending him to the same team for a 4th round pick. They way they draft, they will waste the pick anyway so why didn't they just release him. If they were going to get rid of any of the 3 running backs, they should have protected Joique Bell before the Eagles could grab him. These guys are morons who leave no hope whatsoever for this team. Do they ever stick to anything that they say? How many times over the past few weeks have they said Lynch isn't on the trade block? Another case of them shooting from the hip. They don't have a plan and have no clue what they want to do. Edited October 5, 2010 by billsfreak
Wagon Circler Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Addition by subtraction. Lynch has been crap for a while now. More carries for Freddie and Spiller.
auburnbillsbacker Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 So you think we should kept him then he walks in FA after the season and we get nothing? I wouldn't call the Pats losers and they traded Maroney for a 4th round pick....... He will not be a free agent at the end of the year. He has a couple of years left and was getting paid very little.
bananathumb Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Fine with me. Time to clear out the losers. Whitner hopefully next to go, then Evans.
dayman Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Would have liked a 3rd or the 4th to climb to a 3rd on condition wtf is our condition for 2012?
silvermike Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Look, we had three options: a.) trade him for peanuts b.) let him go as a free agent c.) sign him to a extension. Lynch wasn't getting a second contract in Buffalo, that deal was sealed the moment we drafted Spiller, if not the moment we benched him for FJax. So it was a trade or let go situation. Why do you think we'd get more?
nodnarb Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 And like clockwork, the posts devolve from "get value for lynch while we can" to "what the hell are they thinking"? Lynch looked good early but hasn't been impressive for a long time. He's tough and he's a better guy than his unfortunate antics suggested but he also hesitates, dances, and never proved himself to be better than Fred Jackson. Fred outperformed him in every opportunity. I'm more bummed about losing Joique Bell off the practice squad to the Eagles. I do wish Marshawn well, though. Cool cat. Might get in trouble being so close to Oakland though...
PromoTheRobot Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 My only regret is not keeping Joique Bell or Chad Simpson as our #3 RB. PTR
nucci Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Any chance we can somehow get joque bell back? I like jackson, but he can't have more than 2 seasons left. He's on the Eagles roster now.
Guest dog14787 Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 (edited) How is it a terrible trade? The only bad thing about it would be if we couldve gotten a better draft pick for him during last years draft. We are not going anywhere this year, he would surely leave in FA and we'd get nothing now we get a 4th rounder and another pick for him. Even if we tried to resign him he doesnt want to be in Buffalo.....definitely a good move. Jackson and Spiller will do just fine. I only wish Joique Bell was still on our PS..... I agree on Bell, would have liked to gotten at least a third, but the Bills have so many holes this will help us in the long run. Good Luck Beast Mode, going to miss you !!!! Sisyphean Bills Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Why tarde Lynch? Does that make the Bills a better team? Someone explain that. How many games did they win with the 3-back rotation? The Bills need a ton of new players if the course they are on is ever going to pay off. It makes no sense to lay there and watch the drifting clouds. The Bills front office waited too long and could've probably gotten more for Lynch (his value would have been higher to a team if they could've brought him in to their systems earlier), but it's not like we don't know this FO has a "few" issues.

That's obviously a reflection on the line, not Lynch.
Peace Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Hell, we got a 3rd and a 5th for Willis, but we only get a 4th for Marshawn? Yikes. Willis was better when he left and has proven it in Baltimore. Lynch has to prove he can play.

If they publicly say Lynch is available, how does that help?
flmike Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 This was a good move. He could have been a good running back, but he tries to go sideways far too often and ends up losing yards. You can't say we could have gotten a better deal when everyone knew we were trying to move him. Would you rather keep him or have a 4th and ?th? I'd rather have the picks. There are good players in the 4th round and certain positions have value there. This was a good move. Could it have been better? Maybe, but no one was that desperate for an ex-con decent RB.

That's the sign of a shrewd organization -- telegraph your moves to the rest of the world. By the way -- has it ever been proven the Bills were offered a 3rd rounder during the draft?
K Gun Special Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Willis was better when he left and has proven it in Baltimore. Lynch has to prove he can play. lynch made the pro bowl. Freddy will never see a pro bowl.
Nervous Guy Posted October 5, 2010 Posted October 5, 2010 Hell, we got a 3rd and a 5th for Willis, but we only get a 4th for Marshawn? Yikes. How many off the field issues did Willis have?

I wouldn't call the Pats losers and they traded Maroney for a 4th round pick....... Are we sure that his contract was up this season? His Wikipedia page states that he signed a 6 year deal which would put him under contract through 2012. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marshawn_Lynch#Buffalo_Bills
