And there is your season quarterly "I'm done with this team" post... See you in 4 weeks. Same bat time, same bat channel...

My brother was lamenting the fact that he spent 300 bucks on Sunday Ticket to watch the Bills. I told him that next year if he pays me he 300, I'll drive over to his house and kick him in the ballz every Sunday. He'll never be able to tell the difference!

Ha...now thats funny!!!!

Darth, I thought Trent was the central issue and that the winning streak after cutting him would vindicate this idea... In all seriousness though, There is not one Bill that wold start on the jets. They were more likely to beat the Pats, Packers or Phins then these guys unfortunately.

Less than 2 years ago the Jets were at a crossroads and looked like they were about to pass the Bills on their way to the basement. They had a veteran team that missed the playoffs and had traded away their second round pick for the Favre failure. The outlook was bad for the Jets.

They were at the Bills level. A loser coach and no QB and a lot of no impact guys on offense and a similarly low impact, aging defense.

But instead of hiring a retread, they gambled on Rex Ryan who brought in schemes that made the Jets defenders better then plugged in a few guys that Baltimore wasn't willing to pay. Instant dominant defense. Then they traded up in the draft to get a QB, because they knew they wouldn't get what they wanted with their pick. They never took the approach that it was going to take years to rebuild. They went out and added talent where needed and did so without breaking the bank.

The Bills were essentially in the same spot last offseason and again this offseason and after inexplicably keeping Jauron for one more year they then SETTLED for Gailey and Spiller. They didn't take any chances trying to add a QB. Neglected the OL. Ignored their need for pass rushing OLB's to make their new scheme work.......and that's what you get. No balls, no babies. Not only did they not make significant moves, they basically did NOTHING this past offseason to improve the team.

Great post. In my view, Nix ran the last draft like a scout, not a GM -- sending in his picks right away because they fell in love with guys. That's the sort of thing a GM has to be on guard against in his own organization, and a GM has to be the devil's advocate with the scouting corps. I suspect that this isn't happening in Orchard Park.

The story that's never been written is why AJ Smith dumped Nix. I know you've always AJerk, and undoubtedly he's a d**k. However, he has put together good teams consistently (the Chargers should be 4-0 right now). I'd love to hear the real reasons for the firing.

Sorry but no. I have watched this team since 86' and although older fans say 'but the 70's' and its pure BS. Go do the math, look at the records, the stats and it all points to 99- today being THE worst time in Bills history. Two 2-14 seasons? Who cares? It has become painfully apperant that all Ralph Wilson cares about is lining his pockets with the hard earned money from the great people of WNY.

I have spent many, many Sundays, Mondays, Thursdays whatever defending this team and supporting it, but I just can't spend one more dime to support it. I won't be going to a sports bar anymore, nor will I spend money on gear and I sure as hell won't pay to attend a game. The only way I will do this again is after Ralph Wilson dies. I know that sounds harsh, but the old man has made it clear this is his toy will not be sold as long as he is alive. He must hold on and suck more and more from WNY until death. I won't be part of it.

What is remarkable is that when Ralph brought in the so called new regime under Nix/Gailey there would be an expectation that there would be some major changes to alter the the spiraling downward dynamic of this franchise. That hasn't happened. This team is actually worse than last year's team. How can than be?

Not one major weakness was tangibly upgraded this offseason. The OL is certainly not better. (Adding Cornel Green is laughable. He might be the worse O-lineman in the league.)The DL is not better. The LB corps is just as anemic. The qb position hasn't been upgraded. I realize that this year is different from most years because of the restricted free agency situation which resulted in a limited player market. However, this status quo behavior by the new regime for this hollow team is outright odd. Under the archaic ownership of Ralph this organization has faded into irrelevancy. There is little energy and direction for this floundering franchise. It is very sad.

ever hear: "Cutting off the nose to spite the face" ?

it's an expression used to describe a needlessly self-destructive over-reaction to a problem.

sellouts are the ONLY thing that will keep this team in buffalo. especially when this franchise has a new owner. if keeping our Bills isn't the single most important thing, then you are either not a fan or dumb.

now if your talking about buying tickets but NOT showing up?.....maybe, but most folks around here are not in a financial position to just throw money away (yea yea, i know, you already are)so that isn't going to work either.

figure out some other way to show your disatisfaction....start a petition, if your a season ticket holder send a letter. but understand one thing.....the only excuse a new owner can use to move this franchise is poor attendance.

Yes and No. I agree 90% with your post. They HAVE drafted pretty well in the past esp on the OL and they weren't affraid to pay said players either. They had more pieces in place than we did when Nix and Gailey took over, but you are dead on that they went out and PAID for a top notch up and comer for a HC with a proven past.

Just think, Shotts boy elected to not even interview for the HC job here just to stay on as the OC in NY. Just further proof of how bad it is under Wilson

More fear talking. The team isn't moving. Fans need to get a pair already and boycott. From 99 till now we are the worst team overall in football. This is THE worst stretch in team history and we know it won't get better until Ralph is out of the picture. But fans need to stop with this BS that the team is moving any time soon, this isn't Madden.
