All you Future Hummer II purchasers, be aware that, according to an AP Report,"Federal Regulators are investigating the Hummer H2 after receiving three reports of WHEELS FALLING OFF the vehicle (!) the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said yesterday. Involved in the investigation are Hummer H2s from 2003 and 2004 model years. GMC said there are approximately 59,670 of those on the road"

(getting great gas mileage no doubt).

Four drivers reported a "fracture in the steering knuckle , which allows the wheels to turn. All four reported they lost control of their Hummers. In three of the four cases, a wheel fell off.

**************

Last year, AAA reviewed the Hummer H2 and they always list the three top reason customers liked it and the three top reasons customers disliked it (these were people who bought the vehicle). The top three were what one would expect...."felt Safe", "Could see well in traffic" and "good hauler". The bottom three had two expected and one very unexpected comment. See if you can pick out the unexpected comment,

1.) Poor gas mileage

2.) Hard to get in/ get out of

3.) Handled poorly on pavement

Good hauler? The manual says they are rated for 7000 lbs towing capacity. Which is average at best. (same as the Expedition with towing package). I'm waiting for the diesel version with the CAT diesel and Allison transmission. Then you got something. Anyone from Detroit reading this?

You have to admit that having a Hummer is essential to be able to negotiate those speed bumps at shopping malls.
