Matt Taibbi nails the Tea Party in new Rolling Stone

Recommended Posts

It's pretty much a foregone conclusion that Matt Taibbi is the funniest and most honest political writer going now. His five key elements that all teabaggers share in common might as well be the bulk of LaBills posts the last couple years.

Just classic stuff!

Of course, the fact that we're even sitting here two years after Bush talking about a GOP comeback is a profound testament to two things: One, the American voter's unmatched ability to forget what happened to him 10 seconds ago, and two, the Republican Party's incredible recuperative skill and bureaucratic ingenuity.

Right. That's precisely why a GOP comeback is quickly upon us. It has nothing to do with the current administration. It's just stupid voters and the GOP recuperative skill set.

You're right, Heddcase. This guy IS very funny.

He really is the cream of the crop at this point. Idiots like Magox laugh, but that is only out of ignorance. Magox would be hard pressed to rebut even one paragraph of just one of Taibbi's articles, much less the dozens on extremely accurate and poignant articles that he's written over the last few years.

I don't get it, ACORN wasn't/isn't a problem?

What happened to ACORN was illegal and the law passed would have been overturned in court .. but ACORN folded before it ever had a chance to fight. ACORN did nothing wrong, period. The problem was that we did not find out ALL OF THE INFORMATION until it was too late.

"A lie can travel half way around the world while the truth is putting on its shoes" -- Mark Twain

This guy words it well

O'Keefe, a veteran at creating videos to make blacks look greedy and stupid (look for "Taxpayers Clearing House" on YouTube), spent the summer driving around the country with his accomplice, Hannah Giles, making videos in ACORN offices asking for advice about avoiding tax troubles with prostitution money. You've no doubt seen the images of O'Keefe dressed as a '70s pimp. But O'Keefe had carefully edited his tapes and left out, for example, that he was decked out in college preppie clothes, not pimp-wear. At least one ACORN office threw him out, and at least two knowingly played along with his ruse. (The San Diego office called the cops after he left, and the Philadelphia office filed a police report.) The upshot was that after his edited tapes became public, Congress quickly voted to strip ACORN of all federal funds. The organization effectively went out of business before the bill could take effect or be thrown out in court.

Linking to DU??

They make Connor look like a fundamentalist Christian.

No you !@#$tard, it's a link to an article by Matt Taibbi of Rolling Stone Mag.

What does it matter, the article is way over your head and far more full of facts than you have ever have been. Since you can't understand it, you will falsely dismiss it as liberal propaganda.

Conner, you're pretty interesting these days. If you bothered to look closely, you'd see the link from Heddcase is NOT to Rolling Stone. Though it's not unusual for you to comment on links you haven't looked at.

But this is fun. You're frantic. You're desperate. You're scared to death. You're swinging a bat at anything that moves. You have no story of your own, so you spend your time yelling about the opposition.

You are the true personification of the left right now: absolutely, positively full-goose batschit loco.

This was written by the "cream of the crop?"

Three: They are all furious at the implication that race is a factor in their political views — despite the fact that they blame the financial crisis on poor black homeowners,

What's really sad is that, as far as lib writers go, that's probably true.

So Tea Partiers were cool with defecits until a black Democrat guy took office? Seems libs were pretty upset about defecits before a black Democrat took office. hmmmm...

Tea Partiers are obsessed with race, yet Taibi and crew identify people who couldn't afford their mortgage as "poor black...", constantly brings up Obama's race, equates immigration law as purely racial, and essentially claims it's racist to oppose voter intimidation by Black Panthers. Glad it's only the Tea Partiers stuck on that. hmmmm.....

And did Taibi actually have the balls to call out Tea Partiers for denigrating and labeling people who disagree with their politics? Really? With a straight face (presumably)? That's !@#$ing rich.

I think Hedd likes Taibbi because the latter uses enough four-letter invectives that he can unbderstand the topic. Eve Taibbi admitted that his audience wouldn't understand what he's writing about, so he decided to start insulting people in his pieces to drum up more interest. Good to see it's what passes for "the best" among the progressives. Thank you for another milestone to Idiocracy.

That is how progressives cope; they believed the 2008 elections was an endorsement for progressives where in reality it was a referendum on Bush. When they rammed their policies on the American electorate over the past year and a half and realized that it had been rejected by the people, the only thing they had left was : "It's because the people don't understand" or "The Democrats haven't done a good job in getting out the message" or "The people that reject these policies are racists, bigots and too stupid"....

+2 the original post is ironic

the left media is so out of touch they just cannont comprehend why the majority of America has just utterly turned on the far lefist progressive agenda and are grasping at straws for explanations... and it's always the ever predictible "you must be a racist" card that gets thrown about
