papazoid Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 Charles Robinson of Yahoo! Sports reports that an NCAA investigation has targeted Wichard, North Carolina Tar Heels defensive tackle Marvin Austin, and former UNC assistant coach John Blake. The inquiry focuses on five trips by Austin, two of which were made to California: http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/09/30/ncaa-investigation-could-result-in-nflpa-suspension-of-wichard/
DaBills51 Posted October 1, 2010 Posted October 1, 2010 Interesting....however, I couldn't agree more with the comment from Prior Knowledge in the response section: "NCAA is a joke. Everybody makes money except the athletes. Coaches make millions off them, schools make millions... Schools advertise the players' names, but the players do not even get a percentage of the jerseys sold with their name on it. So the players lose the rights to their OWN NAME!!!" Here is a link to an interesting article that was just in the Buffalo News on the subject of NCAA players being compensated for their sport: http://www.buffalonews.com/business/article194912.ece
