I realize we don't have any QB's with the talent of Vick but I can't help noticing the similarity and irony in the Kolb/Vick scenario.

 

Reid has 2 years of info on Kolb, trades away a franchise QB who isn't on the bottom of the societal gene pool and flip flops after only two games?

 

Why isn't anyone in the media beating up Reid for not giving Kolb more of a shot?

It's because Michael Vick looks like the old Vick that led the Falcons to a division championship. It is as simple as that.

I think if Edwards had gotten knocked out with a concussion and Fitzpatrick came in and lit it up (as Vick had done) there would be no argument. As it stands, I do agree with Gailey's decision to replace Trent with Fitz, but it's not exactly apples to apples.

You need to visit other sites besides this one. Reid's taken a lot of flack, and rightfully so. The whole point in trading away McNabb was that Kolb was both the future and ready to step in and play right now.

[EDIT: For the record, I think both coaches made the right move to play the better QB over the worse QB, but Reid's move really makes the McNabb trade look bad. Can Kolb ever gain the confidence of the guys in the locker room now that he's been benched? If you weren't actually ready to commit to Kolb (and you shouldn't have been, because he's not very good), you shouldn't have traded McNabb. At least Gailey can't hurt the long-term fortunes of either the team or any QB on the team by switching QBs.]

If I were Kolb I would tell fat boy to stick it. You don't do this to a young promising QB. He had a rough half at Green Bay, several QB's do. But then he loses his job due to injury? Reid is wrong here and I for one hope Vick blows out a knee

Philadelphia fans expect their team to try to win. Reid's job depends on winning. How it looks to the media is just a sideshow when you get right down to it.
