cåblelady Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 reporting on ESPN News, looking for a link I googled it. It's all over the place. Very sad.
/dev/null Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 Would it be in poor taste to crack the obvious South Park joke right now?
DC Tom Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 Would it be in poor taste to crack the obvious South Park joke right now? Yeah. I don't know why you'd let it stop you, though.
thebug Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 He was placed on IR in Aug due to knee problems. Maybe it was a career ending injury and he felt he had no hope? Sad for sure, way too young.
Chef Jim Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 Yeah that does suck. I'm really surprised it doesn't happen more often with professional athletes.
Bom Trady Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 Never good news to hear about things like this, R.I.P. Prayers for your family.
Phil Hansen Forever Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 Pray for his family. Families tend to implode when a member dies from suicide.
Buftex Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 Pray for his family. Families tend to implode when a member dies from suicide. My family is going through that now...
Phil Hansen Forever Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 My family is going through that now... I deal with tragedy on a regular basis, and see the after effects of suicide in each family session. I'm so sorry to see you are dealing with it now. Seek counseling, and talk it out. Don't fall into the blame game, or think you should have done more. There is no stopping people if they choose to die, we can only move forward.
todd Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 That is terrible. Makes me really sad to see that. I googled it. It's all over the place. Very sad.
cåblelady Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 My family is going through that now... So sorry, Sweetie. My family went thru it in March. My thoughts and prayers are with you. *hugs*
boyst Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 I think that people exposed to Suicide should watch the movie "The Bridge." It is a reflective documentary on the lives of those who ended their life by jumping off the Golden Gate Bridge. My brothers best friend who was like my brother ended his life, it was one of the most emotional times in my life.
Phil Hansen Forever Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 So sorry, Sweetie. My family went thru it in March. My thoughts and prayers are with you. *hugs* I'm so sorry to hear about your loss as well. It is very difficult to overcome, but appears you are moving ahead with your life. Suicides have become in vogue and a national tragedy. My prayers are with your family.
UB2SF Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 My family is going through that now... My family has been through it too. PM me if you ever need anything. (You too, CableLady!)
MarkAF43 Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 such a sad day.... RIP and my best to the families of anyone who has been touched by a suicide....
ndirish1978 Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 Would it be in poor taste to crack the obvious South Park joke right now? Incredibly poor taste. A person is dead.
dollars 2 donuts Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 My family has been through it too. PM me if you ever need anything. (You too, CableLady!) And in the face of a horrible Bills season and amongst a tragic thread regarding an NFL player, with correlation to pain and suffering that some of us have experienced first hand...this Board and its Members show why they are all sorts of win. My sympathies to the McKinley's and those that have suffered through something like this. and my props and applause to all those willing to lend a helping hand. Why do they do it? Well because ya see there's this guy in a hole... (For any of you who have heard the story before, or saw it on an episode of the West Wing)
