C.Biscuit97 Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 I think he steps into his rightful role as a backup QB. He is not god awful like Losman. Edwards can play well enough in the preseason to earn a roster spot. He does it every year.

silvermike Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 I don't think Trent wants to play pro football. Maybe part-time with the UFL or something, but I'm guessing he retires after attending a training camp with some miscellaneous team and getting cut.
C.Biscuit97 Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 I prefered to watched Losman play it was like watching a car wreck, while Trent is like watching paint dry I think we forgot how brutal Losman was. He used to have games under 100 yards passing. Bottomline, they were both bad NFL starting QBs. However with Losman beign a 1st rounder, that hurts a lot more than a 3rd rounder.

C.Biscuit97 Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 Golf Pro. With hundreds of thousands in the bank. Life could be worse.
Sisyphean Bills Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 With hundreds of thousands in the bank. Life could be worse. True. You could suck at your job and be publicly ridiculed.
Billy in 4C Posted September 20, 2010 Author Posted September 20, 2010 A 2nd string QB needs to be able to be a "spark" when needed and be good at reading defenses. So he doesn't work in that role. A 3rd QB typically is a project/prospect which he is neither. Not sure he has a fit in the NFL.
Original Byrd Man Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 I assume he is done in the NFL. No 300 yrd games in entire college/NFL career. Made of glass. Bad sideburns/haircut. Thoughts? What self respecting UFL team would want him? For all his flaws, at least JP got the ball up the field and into the End Zone.
C.Biscuit97 Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 True. You could suck at your job and be publicly ridiculed. Cowards who are unhappy with their own lives do the ridicule.

Edwards can play well enough in the preseason to earn a roster spot. He does it every year. The XO must be able to take command of the ship. If the coaches can't trust him to come in and take command of the game, he should go as soon as there are alternatives
Captain Hindsight Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 I dont think Trent loves football....i bet he retires
LGB Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 (edited) TE and Losman seemed like they both become deer-in-the-headlights after a while with Edwards having been hit too many times. As far as talent, Kelly Holcomb was better than these two at getting the ball out where it had to be. Edited September 21, 2010 by LGB
thebug Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 I bet he is picked up by the Jets and kicks our asses twice ever year, wins multiple Superbowls and is a first ballot HOF'r.
DanInUticaTampa Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 I am thinking he just retires. I don't think he was keen on playing football for a long time any ways.
FloridaSnow Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 I bet he is picked up by the Jets and kicks our asses twice ever year, wins multiple Superbowls and is a first ballot HOF'r. Yep, I read somewhere a few days ago that this Sanchez character they have at QB is no good, so they're probably looking for someone now and must be getting pretty desperate at this point.
