ExiledInIllinois Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 How bad are Chickpeas? So bad they keep changing the name, in order to trick people into eating them again, I'm sure: Chickpea Garbanzo Bean Ceci Bean Indian Pea There may be more, who knows? I had a boss that hated these vile buggers so much, the office gave him a can of them as a gag gift. He was pissed for days, as he didn't even want to look at the can...that's how much he hates them. With that said, I don't like Lentils, either. And Trent isn't a vegetable. He's a glove-wearing Mary. I say chick peas... You do need them to make hummus.
The Dean Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 I say chick peas... You do need them to make hummus. Hummus. Sounds like something I spit up when I'm phlegmy, Tastes worse.
ExiledInIllinois Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 Hummus. Sounds like something I spit up when I'm phlegmy, Tastes worse. I think it actually means "chick peas"... So, there is another name! Actually, it isn't really that bad... I just don't like when they mix too much olives in it... I am not an olive person.

ExiledInIllinois Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 (edited) Hummus doesn't have olives in it. Olive oil but no olives. Either way... I do not like things too heavy on the olives or oil... Certain kinds that I tried are subtle enough that I don't mind. Edited September 22, 2010 by ExiledInIllinois
boyst Posted September 22, 2010 Posted September 22, 2010 All legumes rock. They can make N out of pure air! I prefer Ladino clover. A good stand of legume in a yard can produce +50# N to act as fertilizer.
