PDaDdy Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 10 Easy ways to Fix the Bills. 1. Trade Marshawn Lynch to Packers straight up for AJ Hawk. addition by subtraction, prompote Joique Bell from Paractice squad, start Hawk ASAP, rotate Fred Jackson, Spiller, Bell as a backup. A huge upgrade at LB. 2. Trade for Vincent Jackson, offer San Diego what they want, with him & Evans, you got 2 very good receivers. 3. Trade for Haynesworth and start him as an end, we have no pash rush and he will fix that. 4. Trade for and sign Mankins from the Pats, start him at right guard, move Wood to right tackle and the New guy to Left Tackle, they will be able to run the football and will be much improved. Without any line upgrade, you have no way of knowing if your QB is the guy or not. 5. Use Spiller, Jackson and Parrish on the field at the same time, remember you have to account for speed. 6. Blitz....Blitz.....Blitz.......there is no way this defense could be any worse. Just look at Pittsburgh, Jets, Ravens, in order to put pressure on a QB you have to send more guys than they have for blocking, Our DB's are suppose to be the strength of this team, make them earn it, what the hell do you have to lose?? 7. Don't be afraid to rotate QB's during a game, you have 3 QB's on the roster and I would say we need to go with the hot hand if there is one, stop worrying about Trent's confidence, it's long gone. Scour the waiver wire for a suitable back up. 8. special teams need to improve field psotion on both returns and returns against, come on Dehaven pull it together 9. Turn the play calling over to the new guy and see if he can do any better, if he doesn't, take it back 10. ALWAYS KEEP a TIGHT END in to BLOCK, NOT an OPTION! 8. Not to be a jerk but here goes. 1) Don't get rid of talent to try to get talent. Zero sum transaction. 2) Get rid of Modrack and find someone who can evaluate freakin' talent!!! 3) Spend some money you cheap f#@ks and get a real LT. 4) Spend some money you cheap f#%ks and get a real RT. 5) Get a real QB or real effective QB like Vick 6) GET RID OF TRENT EDWARDS x5 There you have it. Unfortunately that just takes care of the offensive side of the ball That's my top ten how to fix the Bills.

For #10 just put a 6th O lineman on the field. In fact put two extra linemen in there as "tight ends" and go with either 2 wide 1 RB or 3 WR. That should buy the QB at least 3 seconds.
kdub Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 We'd be better off trading Lynch for anything we can get in draft picks. Trading Evans for anything you can get. And trading Poz for a case of beer, a few slim jims and a dart board from walmart. they have some booze and eats for the draft next year. Then take the dartboard, post names of guys in the 2011 draft on it and fire away. I'm starting to think this is the way to go. The whole off season I had hope that we might be good, and well, the hope is gone and its time to stop trying to win with what we have and start hording draft picks (this doesn't mean try to lose to get the #1). I would much rather see lynch/evans/whoever go in trades for draft picks and not stop gap players. Nix wants to build the team through the draft, lets see if he can do it.
dpberr Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 (edited) Haynesworth only has value in a 4-3, and even then, it's when he's allowed to just rush the quarterback. He was at his best when the Titans just told him to get at the quarterback. There are things the Bills could do without any massive trades, but they won't. They won't bench Edwards. They won't bench Green. They won't bring in guys like Tony Ugoh and Tony Washington for a look-see. They won't bring in any UFL guys that might have some left in the tank. They probably won't trade Lynch. Edited September 20, 2010 by dpberr
coseybedaman Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 I have to say I totally agree that this team will not be good until Ralph is no longer the owner. However, its fun to think about. The Vincent Jackson thing boggles my mind. Just like TJ Housmandazeh being available, and countless other receivers that we made no play for. Why not bring a proven veteran in. Even Vincent Jackson, the guy is a stud. Trade a 2nd or 3rd pick for the guy. WHAT THE HELL DO WE USE THESE PICKS FOR ANYWAY! Buffalo Bills draft picks are way too overvalued. What are we saving them for? John McCargo, James Hardy, Marshawn Lynch, Aaron Maybin, Chris Ellis....etc etc etc. Give me a break. We need to grow some balls and pull the trigger on some real talent. We were actually in the right direction having T.O. and Lee Evans on the field together. The play calling, and quarterback needed to change but you have to start somewhere. Vincent Jackson is a guy that the Bills should have previously, and should currently be making an attempt at. Furthermore, every veteran left tackle that was on the market would get torn apart by every bills fan on this board. Boy, I bet Flozell Adams would look pretty good right now. Hell, I would even take an injured Jared Gaither, and wait for him to be healthy. This team is bad. I didnt think it could be worse than last year, but WOW. I think we could have all seen the trouble ahead when Steve Johnson was named out starting wide out. Thats actually comical. We wont go 0-16, but I think we are every bit as bad as those recent 0-16, 1-15 teams in recent years. I cant wait for Kelly to finally take this ship over!
Billy in 4C Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 So basically trade for all the disgruntled players on winning teams and put them on the worst team in football - what is viewed around the league as football siberia and they will be happy and win? Not saying I wouldn't want more talent on the team, but come on man. These guys don't want to play for the Bills. Nobody does unless we are overpaying them, which we won't and shouldn't.
coseybedaman Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 Vincent Jackson is far from disgruntled. The guy is a class act and a great team player. If you have ever watched any segments on him, or heard his teammates comments about him you would see that. The guy is a top wide out in the NFL, and is far from the first guy to ever dispute a contract. Of course guys don't want to play for Buffalo. They have no commitment to winning. Bringing in some quality veterans along with drafting well will change the whole thought process of the team. What would be so wrong with bringing AJ Hawk in? Give me a break. We have the biggest group of no name linebackers I have ever seen. There is a reason everyone has heard of AJ Hawk, and your casual NFL fan does not know Reggie Torbor or Akin Ayodele. The packers are completely stacked at linebacker, and have no running backs. Thats why the trade talks have even been entertained in the Hawk/Lynch situation. It seems as though on two bills drive there is not a good veteran player out there EVER on the market. Although the quality teams in the league such as the Patriots, Ravens, Steelers, Jets, etc. etc. etc. always seems to find a place for these guys. There is a mixture of veterans and young players for a successful NFL team. Not just one or the other.

thewildrabbit Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 The only problem with your scenario is that in order to bring Jackson-Haynesworth-Mankins to Buffalo you would then need to pay them, not gonna happen as long as RW lives. He doesn't want to spend his precious money. The biggest area of concern right now on this Bills team is not WR, not DE, not OG, not C its at RT & LT So the one guy you forgot to mention that might actually be a good idea and help the team immensely is... trading for Marcus McNeil LT from the San Diego Chargers Then the Bills could move Bell to RT where he might actually do some good. RW might actually pay this guy, the problem arises is that Buddy Nix won't trade away his precious draft picks to obtain him, thus the franchise is stymied by two old Ebenezer's
coseybedaman Posted September 20, 2010 Posted September 20, 2010 Yes McNeil would be an amazing pickup, as many of the other left tackles out there that had negotiation problems would have been. However, this organization will just not pull the trigger. Its impossible to think we can win with this roster. I dont care who the hell is coaching, there isnt a coach that has ever been on the sidelines that could win with this roster. I would estimate that 80% of our roster would be backups on different teams.
