Bills(70) Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 Good day folks, I hope many of you fans who actually thought the Bills had a chance to win more than 2 games this season have cleared your minds and witnessed reality on the field with this team. For those that already know whats coming the following off season, let's talk shop here. Positions: QB = NEED A FRANCHISE QB, 1st pick overall in the upcoming draft should secure one. RB = Spiller is the future, Jackson is capable, the Bills just show cased Lynch to GB today. He could fetch a 1st rounder, and most likely will before week 6. FB = ? I'll leave this to all who respond. WR = Trade Evans for some value draft picks, get WR's in the draft and via FA until the rebuild is complete. TE = For god sake, get an impact TE please. OL = We have a yound LG and RG, but the OT's, both of them, are critical needs and should be addressed any way feasible. Secondary = Couple of good players but needs a true impact FS or SS. MILB/ILB = Injury prone Puz is not the answer, we need a star ILB/MILB. OLB = Pass rusher and coverage specialist needed here, on both sides. DL = PASS RUSHER NEEDED, ANY WAY POSSIBLE PLEASE. Thoughts from you folks. My statement with this post is very simplistic and clear, a REBUILD is needed, if we trade assets now and grab the 1st overall pick for a franchise QB, we can earnestly field a team with some potential in 3 seasons or so, thoughts?
buffalo_bills Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 If we get a good tackle and a good QB, and a pash rusher we are already competitive. 3 years? It wont take that long. 3 POSITIONS WE GOTTA FIX. Dont tell me we cant fix 3 positions in 1 offseason.
Bflojohn Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 That's a whole lot of needs! The Bills should follow the blueprint laid out by Atlanta, whereby, they acquired Matt Ryan and them traded back into the first for Sam Baker. That way you get the "franchise" QB (Good God, HOPEFULLY!) and a bonified left tackle, then you can move Demetrius Bell to Right Tackle. Don't sleep on the Bills pass rush, they need a right DE to set this defense up for success!!
Albany,n.y. Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 If GB offers a 3rd for Lynch, take it. No way we get a 1st.
TheChimp Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 (edited) This is what we need. 1. Five capable O-Linemen, enough of them to push the guys we currently have starting back to the bench where they belong, as backups. 2. At least 2 better-than avegare pass rushers. Better to get them from an established team than the draft, but use both methods. In order to get these things, if I were Nix, I'd trade everyone that any other team would want in a trade for any of the above. Personally, I'd trade Evans, Parrish, Moorman, Jackson, Lynch, who else has any value? Byrd maybe. Only guy I'd hold onto is Spiller right now. Too many people who know the game have lauded him as a pick so he stays for now. EVERYBODY else with value goes, so long as we get one of those guys I mentioned in the first two paragraphs in return. Mr. WEO Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 Wait, I was told over and over---this IS the rebuild.
Pete Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 begin? We are in perpetual rebuild mode. It is a like a nightmare version of ground hog day. This team has absolutely sucked since 2001! Worst team in the NFL since 2001. How many years does it take to rebuild? No excuses. We !@#$ the draft year after year

I believe they also drafted Lofton in the second round that year. He is a very good LB. Then went out and got Turner in F.A. They are still a few pieces away on D, but they are well on their way to being a good team for a longtime. If you look at how ATL has turned their team around it is amazing. Funny what a good GM and a good scouting dept can accomplish! Edited September 19, 2010 by atlbillsfan1975

Not with rookies, QB,OT, both need a couple years to blossom a stud Pass rushing OLB could make a difference right away. While it's spilled milk - this was the year to improve the OL, we didn't, this is my word of advice to the Bills "if you are going to stink, stink young" C. Green, C. Kelsay have no reason to be on this team, dump salary pick up draft picks.
DanInUticaTampa Posted September 19, 2010 Posted September 19, 2010 If GB offers a 3rd for Lynch, take it. No way we get a 1st. Agreed. Though I would hope for more than a third... maybe a third in this draft and a 4th in 2012 draft. 3rd for a franchise RB seems too small. And the packers are a SB contender.... they are going to need a better RB to get there.
