Mickey Posted December 6, 2004 Posted December 6, 2004 correct... 148421 I thought Comet was Fireball's dad?
KD in CA Posted December 6, 2004 Posted December 6, 2004 What was wrong with the doll? I could never see any defects with it. 148472 She was psycho. Apparently, the writers were actively dating at the time. http://www.tvparty.com/xmasrudolph2.html _______ This brings us back to the MISFIT GIRL doll questions.....Uggh! The later versions of the script did not attribute any specific problems with the doll. I believe that Romeo Muller never really gave the character much thought, since her screen time in the original broadcast was mere seconds. She was granted more screen time in the 1965-1997 Broadcasts and ultimately led many a fan to wonder what was wrong with her? Since Arthur Rankin says it was psychological, I still stand behind that. _______
ExWNYer Posted December 6, 2004 Posted December 6, 2004 Being a Rudolph fan, allow me... Train had square wheels. Fog is thick as Peanut Butter. "Don't you mean pea soup?" "You eat what you eat and I'll eat what I eat." Nitpicking here, but... The CABOOSE had the square wheels... "You eat what you LIKE and I'll eat what I LIKE."
SDS Posted December 6, 2004 Author Posted December 6, 2004 Nitpicking here, but... The CABOOSE had the square wheels... "You eat what you LIKE and I'll eat what I LIKE." 148509 The caboose is a part of the train. I didn't say "engine". Your nit-pick is denied!
SDS Posted December 6, 2004 Author Posted December 6, 2004 Well I know the show enough that his name is spelled "Rudolph," not "Rudolf" 148497 I knew it didn't look right....
Greg de'Ville Posted December 6, 2004 Posted December 6, 2004 What was the name of the elf who wanted to be a dentist?Who was Rudolph's father? Who was the reindeer coach? What color was Clarise's bow (the doe who liked Rudolph)? Who was Rudolph's best friend at reindeer camp? What reason did the elf give for not needing anyone else? On the Isle of Misfit Toys what was wrong with the squirt gun? What was wrong with the train? What secret did Yukon Cornelius know about the Abominable Snow Monster? What food did Yukon Cornelius compare the fog with? 148353 Hermie (aka Rick Neuheisel) Donner Comet Red polka dots Fireball "I'm independent" The squirt gun fired off some kind of gooey substance (not water) The train's caboose had square wheels Bumbles can't swim Peanut butter
Gavin in Va Beach Posted December 6, 2004 Posted December 6, 2004 I'll give it a tie with "The Year Without A Santa Claus". Gotta love the Heatmiser. 148387 You are a wise man...
Alaska Darin Posted December 6, 2004 Posted December 6, 2004 I like "Nestor the Christmas Donkey". No children's tale is complete without the loss of their Mother by the five minute mark.
Guest Southern Man.... Posted December 6, 2004 Posted December 6, 2004 She was psycho. Since Arthur Rankin says it was psychological, I still stand behind that. _______ 148504 I believe the part that explains the misfit dolly was let on the cutting room floor (time considerations). A friend of a friend who used to sleep with some claymators told me that the doll was a pre-operative transexual, still in possession of male genitalia, and swore like a sailor, as she/he struggled with chronic tourettes syndrome. I'd heard alternate theories that she had two anuses.
Ned Flanders Posted December 6, 2004 Posted December 6, 2004 The most recent telecasts, filled with more commercials of course, often omit the segment about elf practice, where all the elves practice their Christmas song...Elf leader: "And remember, it's for Santa." Also, in recent telecasts of "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown," the segment where Lucy pulls the football up from a place-kicking Charlie Brown, a Peanuts classic, has lost out to more commercials... I watch too much TV....
Dan Gross Posted December 6, 2004 Posted December 6, 2004 Correct, the "secret" allowing for escape from certain doom. I might need to add this to my signature line. 148385 What I don't get is why he tastes the Axe after escaping? How big a mine do you expect to find in a foot-thick slab of ice? The version of Rudolph that I recorded on TIVO (I believe it was the version aired on the network this year...I dunno, I've been grabbing a buncha stuff off ABC Family) had Elf Practice, with the "alternate voiced" Foreman.
