Fitzmagic Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 (edited) IMO - Trent Edwards will not be resigned unless he wins at least 8 or 9 games this season. I guess it could happen. The catch is... if we don't 8 or 9 games... we will potentially be a top 10 pick which means we will probably draft a quarterback in the first round. Potential FA QBS: Tyler Thigpen - a possible addition. Gailey has worked with Tyler before and there is room to grow. Matt Hasselbeck - highly unlikely due to Gailey wanting to go younger. Potential QBs in the 2011 draft: Case Keenum - over 5,600 yards and 44 TDs in 2009 - this could spark an offensive passing game for Buffalo. Could thrive in Gaileys 4 wide set. The Cougars were ranked #80 on rushing offense. Andy Dalton - A big arm and will probably be successful in the NFL. 62% passing percentage. Jake Locker - Big arm and probably the top QB in the 2011 Draft... although things do change. Andrew Luck - I would take Locker over Luck but Luck still has a decent arm. Did I mention he is from Stanford? I predict the Bills will not draft: Ryan Mallett Edited September 17, 2010 by Rust Belt Brotherhood
crazyDingo Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 You only need to win 5 games in Buffalo for a contract extension.
Phil Hansen Forever Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 Dear Santa, please don't let Nix give that imbecile a new contract. I'll promise to clean the house, and not pee on the toilet seat, but please no more. Take him away, don't put Bills fans through another year of this. Please Santa, take Trentative away.
DanInUticaTampa Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 I'd take Matt Hasselbeck as a stop gap and take a rookie. With Nix being part of a team that drafted Brees AND rivers, I have good hope that he will not make a JP losan type error and will at least get us a QB of Flacco type talent. I still think the most likely scenario is they sign edwards and draft a rookie, and their reasoning will be "he already knows the system, blah blah blah." It isn't what I want, but I just feel that this is the type of organization that would do that. The only saving grace is, edwards might just choose to retire. He never seemed like he really wanted to be a football player long term.
ChasBB Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 I think Mallett will be considered. I like his size -- 6'7" -- he won't have any problems spotting Roscoe over the middle.
Fitzmagic Posted September 17, 2010 Author Posted September 17, 2010 I think Mallett will be considered. I like his size -- 6'7" -- he won't have any problems spotting Roscoe over the middle. I also like Case. He is 6'5 and obviously knows how to toss the ball
lets_go_bills Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 Andrew Luck. Has the intelligence, confidence, poise, presence, and accuracy you need for NFL success. Prototypical size, good pedigree, well coached. He's the one.
CarolinaBill Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 Nate Enderle should also be in the mix
damj Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DON'T SCARE ME LIKE THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WHEN I READ THE TITLE OF YOUR POST, I DIDN'T SEE THE FIRST WORD AT FIRST
Ramius Posted September 17, 2010 Posted September 17, 2010 Christian Ponder will be in the mix as well. As for FA QBs, dont sleep on Matt Moore in carolina. No matter how good he does, they'll be looking to get Clausen into the lineup.
High Mark Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 Luck or Bust. Too much inconsisten tape on all the other guys out there to date. 2010 will be interesting -Can Luck carry his team as the offense gets away from its run first mentality? -Can Locker fix his accuracy issues and learn a more pro style O? -Can Mallet fix his accuracy issues, and will he be hurt by playing under Petrino? -Keenam, System or player? Kolb or Brennan? -Ponder, can he prove he is NFL good? I see Luck with the highest chance to succeed. PS Matt Moore may be a FA too.

kasper13 Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 Trent.....Edwards.....contract......extension. Shudder. Unless he turns into the second coming of Joe Montana, he's done after this year.
damj Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 Trent.....Edwards.....contract......extension. Shudder. Unless he turns into the second coming of Joe Montana, he's done after this year. More like the second coming of Joe Montegna ...
bigc14120 Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 I think Mallett will be considered. I like his size -- 6'7" -- he won't have any problems spotting Roscoe over the middle. I watched Mallet on TV a couple of times. Pretty inaccurate....not a choice I want to see the Bills involved with.
mob16151 Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 For all the people that want Luck, hasn't he already stated he's staying in school till he gets his degree? Also if we're looking for QB's next season(We will be) keep an eye on Nick Foles.

Another Point of View Posted September 18, 2010 Posted September 18, 2010 Can I still watch the 15 remaining games before we start talking NFL draft. How about Brian Brohm, he may be better then a rookie starter for next year
