dave mcbride Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 Why are players so dumb? The TO was infinitely more valuable than the 5 yards in that situation.

Miyagi-Do Karate Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 Why are players so dumb? The TO was infinitely more valuable than the 5 yards in that situation. We discussed it briefly yesterday; it was idiotic. Edwards saw the play clock wind down and, based on instinct, signaled for the TO. The coaches needed to make sure that that didn't happen.
MDH Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 Hell, the play call coming out of the TO was even dumber. It's 3rd and 30 and your pass protection and passing offense has looked horrible. Just give it to Spiller, hope he breaks a long run and if not then punt the ball. Coming out throwing in that situation is just asking for a huge mistake. The risk/reward ratio just isn't worth it. There was a deflected ball near INT on the play but fortunately the Dolphin defender wasn't able to make the play.
