jkx2
Watching the Packer-Eagle game. Look how fast Aaron Rogers gets away from the center and sets up. Then see how fast he reads where he's going with the ball. While our line had some terrible play today, there were plenty of times that he could of made a play. He just doesn't have the mental read and reaction time to play this game as a starting QB. And it WILL NOT CHANGE. We waited for Rob Johnson to get it, we waited for Losman to get it, neither did. Time to give up on this guy.

PromoTheRobot
Your pretty confident we will be able to pick a winner, then be able to protect him. Without a line anybody you put back there is doomed. PTR

Without a line anybody you put back there is doomed. PTR The Packers did a pretty good job of doing that with Rodgers. It would be great to have the 10 other positions set on the offense (and some on the defense) before drafting a QB, but that's not going to happen. Using that criteria, the Colts weren't set before drafting Manning, the Packers weren't set before drafting Rodgers, and the Saints weren't set before signing Brees. If you believe that a guy has the talent to be a franchise QB, you grab him, even if it means he and the team have to struggle before things turn around. And I would argue that if a QB doesn't have the toughness, intangibles, and instinct to survive playing on a sub-par team, he doesn't fit the bill as a franchise QB. He looks like pre-prison form, too.
Chilly
Hell, watch Sam Bradford with STL. While he's obviously still a rookie, he still looks pretty good. Edited September 12, 2010 by BlueFire

Punch
the really sad thing is the Bills could have drafted Rodgers one pick before the Packers with the pick we gave to Dallas for Losman The Bills drafting for the better part of the past decade was absolutely awful, and this is no excuse, but just to show the kind of crap shoot the NFL draft is the Packers were allegedly upset that they missed out on Losman and picked Rodgers as a consolation prize. Our loss and their considerable gain. Edited September 12, 2010 by Punch
jad1
the really sad thing is the Bills could have drafted Rodgers one pick before the Packers with the pick we gave to Dallas for Losman They could have drafted Matt Schaub in the 2nd round of the Losman draft too, and kept all the picks that they gave up to move back into the first round to draft JP. The point isn't how or when you get your franchise QB, the point is that when you make the decision to do so, you make the right choice. In the draft you just have to look at Manning over Leaf, but in FA, remember that the Dolphins chose to sign Culpepper over Brees.
