Wagon Circler Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Chan came out with a shotgun to establish the pass. This is what he ran in KC with Thigpen. The problem is that you need an actual quarterback to run this offense and we don't have one. It is also very hard to run out of if the defense doesn't have to worry about the pass. Safeties were flying up on first down to tackle our RB's behind the line I know new coaches are supposed to have a honeymoon but so many things Chan did wrong. 1. Game plan was dumb. He did not know Edwards is crap and should not be asked to do anything. 2.Had no answers for wharever Miami was doing to stop the run. 3. Could not find a way to get the ball to Evan. Not too soon to go to Fitz who at least throws down the field. Somebody called Edwards a coach killer. That is accurate. 4. Giving up a safety to punt from the 20 made no sense whatsoever. Had to just go for it there. Not that it mattered as our QB was in 4 yard-inaccurate -pass mode. THIS SUCKS!
CardinalScotts Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Yes, I found that VERY offensive! No it's the right call, were just not used to coaching be smart on Sundays. Gailey takes 0% of the blame today.

Sorry, but I have to disagree. That was one of the dumbest plays I have ever seen. A team struggling mightily to score points cannot afford to give any up at any time in the game. Hated the play when he called it, will hate it until the day I die. Gailey takes 0% of the blame? Was his QB prepared? Did he execute the gameplan? Why did Gailey decide to install a 3-4 defense on a team woefully devoid of talent? All of the defensive players we picked up in the draft to fill the 3-4 kept us from addressing the big areas of need on the offense. How did our 3 headed monster RB do today? Which one was best able to get into the flow of the game and make his mark? I'm not down on the guy after 1 game, but to say he shoulders 0% of the blame is assinine.
vincec Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 No it's the right call, were just not used to coaching be smart on Sundays. Gailey takes 0% of the blame today. Don't agree with that. That safety play at the end of the game was absolutely ridiculous. It basically played out the way they were hoping for with the Dolphins going 3 and out and the Bills still had no chance- 29 seconds and 80 yards to go with no time outs??? GO FOR IT. If you are stopped then you can still stop Miami and use your timeouts to get the ball back in the exact same position that they did after the safety- 30 seconds left and needing a TD. Didn't make any sense. Also, he needs to be blamed for not pulling Edwards going into the 4th Q. What does it take to pull him? TE wasn't going to lead the team to victory and everyone in the stadium knew it by that point. Why not make a change?
