The Senator
Gerald M. 'Jerry' Darlak, of the Grammy-Award winning 'Jerry Darlak and the Buffalo Touch' passed away on Wednesday, September 8th, after a long battle with throat cancer. Most of you will know Jerry from his raucous appearances at places such at Artie's Tavern, the R&L Lounge, Adam Mickiewicz Library, and Buffalo's annual Dyngus Day celebration - or from his illustrious recording career and such hits as Na Zdrowie from his hit album Touch This Jerry's death was not carried in the newspapers or media - I only learned of the sad news today while attending the Polka Mass at St. Adalbert's, where he had been scheduled to play. Apparently Jerry wanted no wake or funeral, and donated his body to UB's medical school. link Dyngus Day will never be the same. Ku pamięci mądrego i wspaniałego człowieka. Spoczywaj w spokoju, Jerry. Dziękuje. Edited September 12, 2010 by The Senator
