JStranger76 Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 I'm just sayin it would be nice if we get an injury or Steve Johnson totally flops that we could pick a guy up that at least was in the system and even showed flashes of being able to contribute. Did either of these guys even get picked up?
tbonestake Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 I looked the other day and there were no reports of these guys getting signed. I am still surprised that they kept Donald Jones over Chad Jackson. Jackson made some plays in the preseason. Maybe he got hurt against the Colts. He got dinged a few times and had to be helped off twice. Thats the only reason why I think they would cut him. Who knows, he may be back later this year. Hardy is a goner though.
HansLanda Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 If you couldn't make the Bills as a WR, you probably are not a hot commodity across the league.
JStranger76 Posted September 11, 2010 Author Posted September 11, 2010 Pretty much agree with ya 100%, especially with Jackson. Definitely showed he could play, but the staff probably felt he couldn't for 16 plus games. Too bad, because I'm definitely not a member of the Steve Johnson fanclub.

Jones was kept over Jackson and Hardy because he will play special teams, and it's the coverage teams not as a returner, where he is going to be the third and probably fourth option. Jackson and Hardy added nothing to ST, and they weren't going to see the field as WR because we play to use multiple backs, as well as Spiller and Freddy as receivers split out or in motion.

Good point about special teams. I knew that Hardy wasn't going to play ST. Jackson was out there for ST but he must not have impressed as a ST, or they want someone out there who will appreciate the opportunity a little more.
JStranger76 Posted September 11, 2010 Author Posted September 11, 2010 Another good point KellyTFABD. Special teams and many max protect schemes or multiple back formations definitely played a big part in the decision.

Nanker Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 You can search http://www.nfl.com/players for information such as this. They're both listed as Status: "CUT", which says it all.

High Mark Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 Is hardy still practie squad eligible? Thats the only way i see him getting a second chance. But hey, look at Mike Williams, you never know.

Arkady Renko Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 I am more interested in what happens to Levi Brown. I do think that Jackson is the first one called if a WR is put on the IR.

Kelly the Dog Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 Did any of our cuts get picked up? No, I'm pretty sure that none of them have, even for a practice squad.
JStranger76 Posted September 11, 2010 Author Posted September 11, 2010 Levi Brown will have to find a regular job like the rest of us, that is what will happen to him.
