Ayodele>Mitchell...i think so. Ayodele has been a career starter, and i dont think hes much of a downdgrade, if not an upgrade over Mitchell.

It's amazing how fast these things happen. Did we not just hear a day or 2 ago that Mitchell is unlikely for game 1? I know Gailey wasn't commenting on long term prognosis, but did anyone see this coming?

I agree with that in the past but Ayodeles game is losing ground at this point. Still I didnt think Mitchell was the greatest in the first place. Dont like to see him to go down but I do like the veteran addition.

This is likely why Akin was cut by the Broncos...

Ayodele became expendable when the Broncos decided to move Mario Haggan from outside linebacker to the inside "Mike" position, where Haggan spent all of the offseason and the early portion of training camp. The team has bumped Robert Ayers into the starting lineup at outside linebacker along with Jarvis Moss, who returned last week from a broken hand. Joe Mays and Wesley Woodyard, both key special-teams players, will provide depth at inside linebacker. Baraka Atkins, Jason Hunter and Jammie Kirlew will fight for jobs on the outside.

"I just don't believe in taking veteran players to the final cutdown once you've already made a decision," coach Josh McDaniels said of releasing Ayodele, who signed as a free agent in April.

Adoyele should be a solid veteran replacement as a back-up, depending on how much speed he may have lost. He's always been productive. Probably a better ILB than Mitchell was, although Mitchell was probably a better blitzer and a little quicker in coverage. Still, it's probably not much of a loss, if any at all.

Agreed. Mitchell wasn't exactly irreplaceable. As a bonus, Adoyele has more experience in the 3-4.
