Wing Man
If the season opener can be a major trap game, then that's what Sunday is for the Dolphins. Miami's nightmare schedule is seriously front loaded with five of their first eight on the road. Sept 12 - at Buffalo Sept 19 - at Minnesota NFC Championship Sept 26 - NY JETS AFC Championship Oct 4 - NEW ENGLAND Won AFC East Oct 17 -at Green Bay NFC Wild Card Oct 24 - PITTSBURGH Roethlisberger off suspension Oct 31 - at Cincinnati Won AFC North Nov 7 - at Baltimore AFC Wild Card, Predicted by Some to Win Super Bowl XLV Miami's seven opponents after the Bills were a combined 70-42 last season. Miami may be an improved team on paper, but they will have to win four of these to contend for the playoffs with a QB that not everyone is convinced is NFL quality. Are the Fins really that good? Could they lose six in the first half of their schedule? Soprano could be a mid-season casualty if they can't break through. It's tough to see how we'll get two playoff teams out of our division this year given the AFC East's scheduling with the AFC and NFC North. Nine wins could easily be enough to win. Mr. WEO
Really? Game 1 a "trap game"? For a 3 point favorite?
cmjoyce113
I don't think a week 1 game for anyone is a must win. Including Buffalo. I would love for them to be 1-0 but if we are 0-1 it certainly wont be the end of the season.
McBeane
If they were playing in the FCS, then yes it's a must win.
SteamRoller67
If it's week 17 and the win means a playoff spot for the Dolphins, then yes. Week 1 of a looooong, arduous season, no.

But a VERY important game for both teams nonetheless... because of the toughness of both schedules. The winner of Sunday's game will have a significant edge over the other. tbonestake
I believe it was a Buddhist Prodigy who exclaimed that, "YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME!!!" I have to agree with him there. Every game is a must win. Edited September 9, 2010 by tbonestake
