moats impressed me. he was fighting on most plays. very agressive. he only got beat on like 2 plays vs rbs. which is totally normal.

i think moats has IT. maybin is like a ragdoll that gets punked all the time. he tries but usually never breaks through. havent given up on him yet, hopefully his technique improves this year.

I think your right. Moats has IT and will be a star in this league. I watched him play alot at JMU and he was a total beast. As soon as he learns his new position and gets some experience he will be a starter and possibly probowler in a few years.

I'm not the best coached or most knowledgeable guy on the real x's and o's of football - it just seemed to me that OLB's are usually so often converted DE's from college - guys usually running around 260 - 280 lbs. I know inside linebackers are more like 240 - 250 lbs, which is why I thought he might be able to use his straight line speed more advantageously to us as an ILB - just an idea.

As for thinking Moats was bigger - I don't know off hand about weight, but his arms look much bigger than Maybin's to me.

I know fans always have great ideas - why don't we do this, or that - and it wasn't really a likely idea - I was just curious about the weight thing - that ILB's are lighter than OLB's, I thought, so why not allow Maybin to use his skills there?

I hate to post negatively but...

Maybin would work best bagging groceries at the official Supermarket of the Buffalo Bills, Tops Friendly Markets!!!

Seriously tho, Hopefully he'll be productive in a couple years with a little development and age!!!

Maybinot is definitely very quick. I think that quickness could help him as a check out clerk at a grocery store. I hate the slow ones that have to scan things multiple times. With his first step, even if he missed an occasional scan, he would make up for it in volume.

Maybin would work better as a janitor. :)

Yeah - you beat me to that one.

I don't think he lacks anything physically. He's just not a "football player" - not yet, anyway.

The saving grace is that he's really young (22) and he does look better this year than last, so there's still some home he can get his act together.

He's still clearly an awful pick as early as they took him.

I think Maybin is the perfect candidate for "Hold the ball on the tee so it doesn't blow over when it's windy" guy.

Excellent - they should do one of those Bud Light(?) tribute songs about that position...

"Mr.Hold the ball on the tee so it doesn't blow over when it's windy guy"....

Personally i think he would work out better in a different uniform .... I didn't like the pick or his reaction to being picked by the Bills . He seems like a hot dog as far as his attitude goes . And to this point has proved NOTHING !! We should have picked Orapko . With all this being said i hope he makes me eat every single word i've put down but i really dought it !!!

in a few years???? man i hope this for this year.

Special teams, with a very, very specific lane assignment that corresponds to specific hash marks.

left and right side line! Lol!

If Maybin was a third-round pick from this year, everybody would be excited about him. He may never become Lawrance Taylor, which is a good thing for all under-age girls; however, I think he will do just fine as a situational pass rusher. Hopefully, he will improve to become an every down linebacker. I definitely think he is better at OLB than DE, and he is very green. He's definitely bigger than Kieth Ellison, and I like his attitude. I remember the post where the players were clearing out their lockers and everybody was commenting on how small he looked. What I noticed, was that he was one of the last players to clear out after the season was over. I really think he loves the game.

As far as Okorpo, I was really disappointed that the Bills didn't draft Brady. They had multiple chances, and they didn't get him. Heck, what about Revis? We picked a CB earlier in the first round in that draft? I'm still miffed the Bills selected Byrd because we all know what an exact science the draft is.

His hands cannot be worse than any TE we've had for the last 10 years!

+2

I said the same thing a while ago. Assuming he has hands (which could be a bad assumption), dude could be a monster TE.

Best place for Maybin is collecting parking money out in the lot before the game. He would at least be doing someting useful.

he could send 3 of my 5 daily text messages for me. that way he could say he did 60% of something.

Probably the only SACK he would make.

I was thinking about our linebackers, and how a lot of people don't think we'll be able to pressure the QB enough this year. I could see, in my mind, plays we have had this preseason, see Maybin running past the Qb, Moats getting close, and this occurred to me: Maybin is often being pushed by the Qb, he's going so fast his momentum and light weight relative to the tackles makes it easy for them to push him out of the QB's path.

How would Maybin fare coming from straight on? If he were rushing from an ILB spot, would he fare better? Do his skill sets allow for him to play on the inside?

And Moats - maybe he's best fit for the inside, we do have Coleman and Batten on the outside, along with Ellis, who are young and have potential - but Moats, he looks pretty big and pretty quick, kind of reminds me of Orakpo. Would Moats work on the Outside? Maybe switch the two?

It's just an idea - does anyone think it could work?

Comparing Moats to Orakpo is the funniest thing I have EVER heard!
