Wow, the preseason kool aid is really flowing around here.

sure is ... way too many people on this board have been drinking in the ESPN and Madden analysis of the team and think they are getting worse not better.

 

It's exciting to realize we will be watching a team with a creatively minded offensive coach dedicated to winning not just trying to avoid a loss ... his coaching in combination with a running game loaded with potential and a revived passing game that will finally utilize Roscoe in combination with Spiller, Evans, Jackson, Johnson/Nelson, and Stupar are going to put points up on the board. Our DB's are going to be catching a lot of balls this year and we will be in the game during the 4th quarter most weeks.

 

So, I am totally in agreement with you about the kool aid ... the pessimists whose glasses always seem to be more than half empty now have filled them up with the powdered stuff that is energizing them into missing out on the good news from OBD!

 

Thanks for posting your reminder about all those who just can't see the good things that are ahead!

Take a look at the stats from the preseason for our offense. We averaged 27 points a game had 300 yards of offense (10th in the NFL; 1st in our Division) Averaged 5.2 yards per play and held the ball for 31 mins each game and were plus 3 in the turnover ratio. Our 3rd down conversation leaves a bit to be desired (27%) but if the Bills can continue those trends over to the regular season we can win some games

 

Trent Edwards had the 6th highest QB rating among starting QBs and averaged 9yards a completion and had 6 plays of 20 yards or more and 2 70 yard completions

 

Thats alot to build on offense and the kind of production that hasnt been seen in Buffalo Since Bledsoe was here.

 

I dont think 8-8 is out of the question at all. Anyone who has watched this team this preseason has seen something that hasnt been around since the late 90's. CONFIDENCE and ATTITUDE. Gailey has gotten alot of guys to buy into the expecting to win mentality. Sure its hard to win in the NFL but this team expects to win and expects to make plays. That is something that doesnt show up on a stat sheet but can change the tide in a game.

 

I expect a much better team this year. Our schedule is hard but these are NFL players to say this team cant compete is bull **** IMO. I expect us to be competitive and win a lot more than any ignorant sports writer thinks

 

But hey im an optimist.... See you at the opener
