FluffHead Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 for those of us in the capital region, it wouldn't hurt to contact CBS as soon as possible. It looks like we're getting NE/CIN instead of MIA/BUF http://the506.com/sports/?tag=2010-week-1
eball Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Oh sweet Jesus...Gus Johnson and Tasker for the Bills game. Thank God I'll be there and not have to listen to those two.
DonInBuffalo Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Good luck. CBS only has early games that week due to the US Open, and NE/CIN is essentially the national game. Among casual fans, the NE/CIN would likely draw higher ratings. Albany is geographically quite a bit closer to Boston than it is to Buffalo.
RuntheDamnBall Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 tell me why NYC wouldn't be more interested in Bills / Dolphins since they are the Jets' divisional rivals? Hate the Patriots so much. Even more, now. Guess it's McFaddens or something for me this week.
sir andrew Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Being a past resident of the area, I share you're pain. Always had to check in advance to see if it was being shown and then make plans to go to a bar that was full of Jets and Giant fans. Ugh.
Cornerville Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Miami @ Buffalo - Gus Johnson, Steve Tasker
The Big Cat Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Miami @ Buffalo - Gus Johnson, Steve Tasker Why would Erie, PA play the Browns over the Bills? They're in the Bills market (to the chagrin of Steelers fans). Any chance this map is inaccurate?
ropeerasers Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 The Erie stations are only obligated to play the away games. Because of that they barely ever play home games if there's a conflict with either the Steelers or the Browns.
Lv-Bills Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 (edited) WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! There actually is a game considered less TV worthy than ours. Cleveland at Tampa. lol Thank god most of us will be at the game. Edited September 6, 2010 by Lv-Bills
BillsFanInLV Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 (edited) Any chance this map is inaccurate? I noticed the Louisiana purchase is not reflected on this map! lol Edited September 6, 2010 by BillsFanInLV
Saratoga Leo Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 (edited) According to WRGB channel 6 website, the Bills game is on in Albany. I would hope and expect that to be correct. Although Albany may be geographically closer to Boston, there are far more Bills fans than Patriot fans. If the game is not on locally, there are several Bills bars. The best being Ravenswood in Clifton Park in my opinion. Edited September 6, 2010 by Saratoga Leo
The Big Cat Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 The Erie stations are only obligated to play the away games. Because of that they barely ever play home games if there's a conflict with either the Steelers or the Browns. Hmmm I was unaware of that stipulation. They've been on EVERY time I've been home, and never have they taken a back seat to the Clowns... may be I'm just super lucky, or may be it changed this year)
dbringer Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Oh sweet Jesus...Gus Johnson and Tasker for the Bills game. Thank God I'll be there and not have to listen to those two. I wonder what CBS will do for the Green Bay game next week?. That's one of the few opportunities they'll have to broadcast one of the teams they've decided are going to be good this year. So maybe we'll catch a break and get some decent announcers.

FOX has the GB game

They've been on EVERY time I've been home, and never have they taken a back seat to the Clowns... may be I'm just super lucky, or may be it changed this year) I don't live in Erie anymore, so I don't know if it has changed. And admittedly, they get bumped less often for the Browns then the Steelers, but it still happens with regularity. And it always seemed like the city was going to implode on weekend the Browns and Steelers played but the Bills were away, playing at the same time.
Mike In Illinois Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 FOX has the GB game CBS will have the Green Bay game. The visiting team in an interleague game determines the network that covers it, excluding the nationally televised games (NBC, ESPN). Also, DirecTv is having a free preview of Sunday Ticket for Week One. They had it last year (where you could follow you're fantasy players in live scoring) and they sent a message to each DirecTv receiver as a reminder.
olivier in france Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 (edited) what's really surprising in those maps is the St Louis area not getting the Zona-St Louis game... Blackout already? for the first game of their brand new savior? Edited September 6, 2010 by olivier in france
5 Wide Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 Oh sweet Jesus...Gus Johnson and Tasker for the Bills game. Thank God I'll be there and not have to listen to those two. You might still be able to hear Gus Johnson though......
dbringer Posted September 6, 2010 Posted September 6, 2010 FOX has the GB game No, Champaign Mike has it right. So CBS will only have the chance to broadcast Green Bay when they host the two AFC East teams this year (assuming one isn't an NBC or ESPN game). The other two AFC games are on the road. So, maybe we'll get the #1 announcing team for a change.
