In 2008 with KC, the FB started something like 6 games and played in about twice that many. When he was in Miami, Rob Konrad was the FB, and started most games. When he was in Dallas, Darryl Johnston was the FB and started most games. Conclusion: If there's a FB on the roster that's productive, he's going to get onto the field. Not really surprising.
