Buffalo Billy Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 Just saw on Sportsnet ticker he signed with the Vikings. Finally.
murra Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 Just saw on Sportsnet ticker he signed with the Vikings. Finally. Finally? What did it last like 2 days?
PromoTheRobot Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 Finally? What did it last like 2 days? Slow internet connection. PTR
RJ (not THAT RJ) Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 Finally? What did it last like 2 days? Dude, for the children of today that is an eternity.... Thank you internet and 24-hour news cycle.
Buffalo Billy Posted September 5, 2010 Author Posted September 5, 2010 There were earlier false reports that he had signed. Him eventually signing doesn't make old false reports true retroactively.
kasper13 Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 Not even an hour ago, Vikings coach BC said they were in no way, shape or form interested in TJ. Guess nobody told him they were going to sign him.
Huuuge Bills Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 I was going to say the same the same thing as you guys, but wanted to play nice. But you guys already started , so what the hell. You wanted to have him: a) Talk to the 31 other teams in the NFL to gauge their interest. b) Out of the teams that wanted him, find the best few offers. c) Out of those offers, decide which team was the best fit for him. d) Figure out how to work out a fair contract given the unique nature of his previous contract. (Seattle has to pay the difference between his new salary and his old salary.) But, he should have done that in a total of about 3 hours.
kasper13 Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/39018896/ns/sports-player_news/ 4:20 pm- Coach Brad Childress confirmed Sunday that the Vikings have no intentions of signing free agent T.J. Houshmandzadeh at this time. So by 4:35pm they signed him? Ridiculous.
Buffalo Billy Posted September 5, 2010 Author Posted September 5, 2010 Um for the record, the "finally" part was in reference to the end of unrealistic forum dreamer speculation, not of his actual signing. I thought that part should be obvious.
Buffalonian-at-Heart Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 http://nbcsports.msnbc.com/id/39018896/ns/sports-player_news/ 4:20 pm- Coach Brad Childress confirmed Sunday that the Vikings have no intentions of signing free agent T.J. Houshmandzadeh at this time. So by 4:35pm they signed him? Ridiculous. Childress is just along for the ride. When the Favre era ends, he'll coach one more year and be gone.
Buffalo Billy Posted September 5, 2010 Author Posted September 5, 2010 I don't know kasper, I was just watching highlights on Sportsnet and "Report: T.J. Houwhatever signs with the Vikings". They tend to put only current news on the live ticker like that.
DC Grid Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 What's the source for this? No one else seems to be reporting this.
BillsGuyInMalta Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 Childress is just along for the ride. When the Favre era ends, he'll coach one more year and be gone. If he's lucky he'll coach that one extra year. The Vikings seem to have a penchant for hiring high-school gym coaches as their head coach (also see Tice, Mike)
Buffalo Billy Posted September 5, 2010 Author Posted September 5, 2010 DC, in short my "source" is Sportsnet. In longer, ask them where they got the report from.
murra Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 DC, in short my "source" is Sportsnet. In longer, ask them where they got the report from. Quick question: Whats your first language?
Buffalo Billy Posted September 5, 2010 Author Posted September 5, 2010 Quick answer: Troll someone else.
MyHorseAteTheKid Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 Just saw on Sportsnet ticker he signed with the Vikings. Finally. With that team he will be an All-Pro again..
nichebiche Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 I'm thinking it said that the vikings will not sign tj and he misread, cause anything I've seen says they aren't interested.
Buffalo Billy Posted September 5, 2010 Author Posted September 5, 2010 No, niche, I gave you an exact account of what the ticker read.
nichebiche Posted September 5, 2010 Posted September 5, 2010 That's great, but since you are on the world wide interweb like the rest of us, I challenge you to replicate that info from anywhere and provide us with a link. You can bet schefter would have broken that story by now, before this "sportsnet" for sure.
