sllib olaffub
I know we have a reciever at Tight End, and Coffman is pretty limited to recieving, but he looked good coming out of college in that capacity, and we do only have 2 currently. It might be nice to have the option of another good reciever from that position.

According to this PFT report he has not played a snap for the Bengals. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/09/04/chase-coffman-cut-before-ever-playing-a-snap-for-bengals/
OCinBuffalo
I remember quite a few posters had this guy in their mock drafts a few years ago. The problem with these kind of TEs is: they tip off the other team that a pass is coming when they sub in.
TC in St. Louis
I'd sign him immediately. He made so many amazing catches at Missouri it was ridiculous. His dad was a Pro-Bowl calibre TE for the Packers. He's gotta be better than that guy who kept dropping passes the other day.
Thoner7
At worst he could fill Nelsons role for 4 weeks.

Kelly the Dog
How about David Martin? Yeah he missed last year but he was good before that, averaging 14.5 yards per catch which is huge for a TE. Apparently it was somewhat of a surprise cut, too. He's pretty big and a vet, not to mention he could give us a few tweets about the stinking fish and would probably love to harpoon them. If he is in shape it would be worth it for four weeks to see if he has anything, then decide between him and Foschi who we let go when Nelson gets back. Guest dog14787
I liked Chase Coffman coming out of college and had originally hoped the Bills would draft him.
Red
Man, such interesting stuff. You can say the same things about Coffman that you can about James Hardy, Matt Leinhart, or even Chad Jackson. No one knows if these guys are just not good enough, or if they could use a second chance in a different arena. Only time will tell.
Malazan
Maybe we can get a thread for every single player that was cut.
