This is NOT gonna happen! I triple-guarantee you, Merlin Olsen and his international gang of bastards are NOT coming to Buffalo! If he does, I will welcome him with shoes! He is not even within 100 miles of Buffalo! He is not in any place. Dick Jauron is still in control of the Buffalo Bills, and I will PROVE it to you! In ONE HOUR!

Honestly, from a pure potential standpoint there's no doubt that it's Nelson > Olsen. Now Olsen is a more well-rounded TE with his ability to block, but from a production standpoint I honestly think that Nelson has a chance to be a top-tier player at his position. I've scouted a lot of TE's over the past decade or so and I've rarely seen one with the athletic prowess that Nelson brings to the table.

I like Nelson, don't get me wrong, but I have serious doubts about him being better than Greg Olson. Olson may not be worth a first round pick, but he was a first round pick for a reason. If he were a Bill, he would instantly solidify the Bills decade + long search for a tight end. I will take your word, as you have apparently scouted tight ends, that Olson is a better blocker than Nelson, but I know he is also a damn fine receiver, and is a great target in the red zone. The Bills couldn't use that, could they?

There was another thread on this very topic about a week ago... I was told to "get back in my parent's basement" for suggesting the Bills try to pursue a trade for Olson. It seems Bills fans have been conditioned to convince themselves that dreaming too big, when it comes to acquiring talent, is silly. Olson is a great player, still very young, and he is available, and would fill a need. I would be fine with the Bills giving up a second for him... ask yourself this: would you think a team, in need of a tight end, was crazy to draft one in the second round? If not, why not get one who has already proven he can play in the NFL? Nelson and Olson might help to make that wretched QB situation in Buffalo look a little better.
