bowery4 Posted September 1, 2010 Author Posted September 1, 2010 Edit button only works a couple of times for me LOL. Final thought after doing this Fitz or Brohm one is a likely cut as well just for pure numbers. Then you have Brown on PS and still have three (what Buddy said he wanted), I pick Brohm to go at this point but could change that after Thursday.

bowery4 Posted September 1, 2010 Author Posted September 1, 2010 There's absolutely no chance Joique Bell would clear waivers. He has to be part of the 53 man roster if he stays with the Bills. you may be right. I just think they might try to do that with him. I like the kid a lot he was tough do that with. I think it is an over loaded position though too. It will certainly be interesting to see what does happen with those 2 RBs.
ChanOverChin Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 A lot will depend upon how some players perform this Thurs. vs the Lions, but my best guess at the final roster is as follows (with comments): OFFENSE (25) QB: Edwards, Fitzpatrick, Brohm (Fitz has looked good and Brohm can be the third string develpmental guy; L. Brown moves to PS) RB: Spiller, F. Jackson, Lynch, Simpson (Spiller may have earned himself more carries; Simpson is talented and experienced and can return kicks; the Bills will need four RBs if Gailey plans to play his top three as much as he is indicating; Bell moves to PS) FB: McIntyre (he's more than just an ST guy; he can block and catch) TE: Stupar,Foschi,S. Nelson (Nelson won't count for the first four games due to his suspension, which may open a roster spot for Hardy) WR: Evans, Johnson, Parrish, C. Jackson, Hardy, Nelson (Nelson is still not a shoe-in to make the roster, but the numbers are in his favor; Hardy will need to show something vs the Lions) OT: Bell, Green, Meredith, Wang, Chambers OG: Levitre, Wood, Howard, (Chambers) OC: Hangartner, (Wood) SPECIAL TEAMS (3) K: Lindell P: Moorman LS: Sanborn DEFENSE (25) DT: Stroud, Edwards, Carrington, S. Johnson, McCargo (they need to keep at least seven DLs so McCargo barely makes it) NT: K. Williams, Troup OLB: Torbor, Maybin, Kelsay, Ellis, Coleman (Bills should probably take Corto for ST as their 53rd player, but Gailey will likely go with a young player like Coleman that he can try to develop instead) ILB: Mitchell, A. Davis, Posluzsny, Moats CB: McKelvin, McGee, Florence, Youboty, Corner (Lankster gets beat too much) SS: Whitner, Scott FS: Byrd, Wilson. PRACTICE SQUAD QB L. Brown RB J. Bell WR N. Roosevelt OC Gaddis DL Duncan LB D. Woods CB Lankster TE (FA pick up)
FightClub Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 RB: Spiller, F. Jackson, Lynch, Simpson (Spiller may have earned himself more carries; Simpson is talented and experienced and can return kicks; the Bills will need four RBs if Gailey plans to play his top three as much as he is indicating; Bell moves to PS) I liked what Simpson did last game as well, but I don't think he leap frogged Bell. I see what you are saying about returns, but given the absolute preponderance of return men we have and how pitiful the kick coverage has been, I think we keep Bell for kick coverage, something I don't think Simpson at his size is capable of doing; certainly not well. I also agree with the other poster that Bell will not make it to the PS, so it is a safer move to keep him and jettison Simpson. Chances are that Simpson does not get picked up and we can sign in later if we need him. Sorry that has to be done to the guy, but it's the safest move at the RB position for the Bills. Bell is going to be much better equipped to handle the load with his size if we need to call upon a 4th back than Simpson would be.
KalvinoHernandez Posted September 1, 2010 Posted September 1, 2010 my final 53 man roster OFFENSE (26) QB: Edwards, Fitzpatrick, L. Brown (Brohm cut) 3 RB: Spiller, F. Also, I do not think they keep that many tight ends on the active roster, especially when you carry a fullback. I don't think they should keep 4 backs on the active roster. Hopefully they don't get signed off practice squad. McCargo has looked better than Carrington at this point. I think he makes it.
bowery4 Posted September 2, 2010 Author Posted September 2, 2010 FWIR, I thought Simpson, C. Harris ,C. Gaddis J. Corto were all active roster last year doesn't that matter for PS elligablity? I kind of agree about the Hardy Nelson thing but think he won't show much on Thursday (I kind of hope I am wrong though). I don't see Wood being back up center unless we have a good back up at guard on that side. The only thing I have going for Chambers is his familiarity with more than one line position or he would definitely be a cut. I would really like it if they taught him or Gaddis to LS to free up that spot on the roster. Then either one would be worth keeping IMO.

Honestly after seeing the new JP in action I cut him, I know he has Chan connections but IDK he looked lousy to me, I think Adam Terry would be an upgrade over Chambers so finally I cut him and we add Terry instead, he is young and had a tough injury, looks like he is having troble getting back but he was 100x better than Chambers a couple years ago. I also Kept Fitz and cut Brohm, I know lots of ppl disagree with it but I really think Fitz is a good back up. He is young and he does do ok out there, same with Brohm but Fitz just has more experience in my book. And those who say "we know what we have in him" "he has no upside" I say he has improved this camp and preseason he CAN improve with the right coaching. Last year was and in Cinncy he was thrown in bad situations. He gets the team in the end zone on occasion, that is a good thing. I am sure there are others who come up on waivers today and we can fill the spots I emptied.
