tbonestake
from the Bleacher report:, players they think are on the bubble 1.Keith Ellison - gets kept because of ST and depth at an already suspect LB corps 2.Chad Simpson - if Joique Bell wasn;t here he ould be safe but... 3.Derek Schouman - tough call. injury prone but we may need his services. he stays for now 4. James Hardy - stays till final cut down. if he doesn't show positive signs this week he will be gone 5.John McCargo - DONE 6.Reggie Corner - Big Pick against Cincy for 6 and will stay b/c of experience-Lankster gets the axe 7.Naaman Roosevelt - crossing my fingers b/c he is an SJCI Alum!!! Got open and caught everything vs. Cincy 8.Cary Harris - ummmm...keep him. hits hard and could use some insurance at S 9.Ryan Fitzpatrick - KEEP! Experienced career back-up with testicular fortitude 10.Brian Brohm - 3rd string for now. Its a step up from GB's PS. If someone snags Levi off our PS and he becomes Tom Brady, OH WELL. It's not like we haven't had worse disappointments right? http://bleacherrepor...-bubble#page/11 Edited August 31, 2010 by tbonestake
Wagon Circler
Ellis Lankster, who has been horrible.Marshawn Lynch, who is not needed. I like #36.
Amstel
I agree. Lankster should go over Corner. Corner looked good last year and has looked good this preseason........
cmjoyce113
Ellis Lankster, who has been horrible.Marshawn Lynch, who is not needed. I like #36. I would 100% disagree with you and say Lunch is very much needed. Having 3 backs with very different running styles is going to make it very difficult on opposing defenses for four quarters. BuffaloRebound
I've never been a big fan of Ellison, but he is a good tackler and decent coverage LB. I think he's a better option as the nickel LB than Scott or should at least be considered. I also think McCargo has had a solid pre-season. I don't think we have enough good LB's to consistently play a 3-4, so McCargo has a chance at a roster spot. McCargo and Ellison are probably battling for the same spot and it most likely comes down to special teams play.

tennesseeboy
I''m thinking keep Corner, Simpson, Roosevelt, and Fitz. If possible keep Schouman as the next guy. The rest of them can go. Even if they don't need to. I can see us picking up better players off the waiver wire. I know we'll have more running backs than most teams, but this is an exceptional bunch of running backs. bowery4
My 53 man roster as far as what I think will be sept 12 this is what I think they do. This is pretty hard!! (to do). lol offense QB Trent Edwards Ryan Fitzpatrick Brian Brohm Levi Brown PS FB Corey McIntyre Rodney Ferguson PS RB Fred Jackson Marshawn Lynch C.J. Spiller (could go Thurs decision Chad Simpson) Joique Bell PS WR1 Lee Evans Chad Jackson Naaman Roosevelt PS LT Demetrius Bell Jamon Meredith Ed Wang (I don't think Wang goes PS or gets IR'd) LG Andy Levitre Jason Watkins (to go lower likely PS) C Geoff Hangartner Sean Allen is possible too go too but I think C. Gaddis) RG Eric Wood Cordaro Howard RT Cornell Green Kirk Chambers (I might cut Chambers to go lower) TE Jonathan Stupar Shawn Nelson J.P. Foschi WR2 Steve Johnson Roscoe Parrish David Nelson 25 or 26 still too many!! defense boy D is hard!!! LDE Marcus Stroud Alex Carrington Depends on thurs John McCargo may go DT Kyle Williams Torell Troup RDE Dwan Edwards Spencer Johnson Rashaad Duncan PS LB Chris Kelsay Chris Ellis LB Andra Davis Kawika Mitchell LB Paul Posluszny Keith Ellison Arthur Moats honestly I have no idea KE may go LB Reggie Torbor Aaron Maybin Antonio Coleman LCB Terrence McGee Reggie Corner Ashton Youboty RCB Drayton Florence Leodis McKelvin FS Jairus Byrd George Wilson Cary Harris PS SS Donte Whitner Bryan Scott Ellis Lankster possible PS as well I guess 25 or 26 The rest were cut (or bubbles) STs K Rian Lindell P Brian Moorman LS Garrison Sanborn (I hate that we keep LS as a ST player but thats just me) 3 total So I have 3 or 4 extra at this point Bubbles would be Ellison, McCargo, Lankster, C. Simpson, J Watkins, Chambers I cut Schoulman and Hardy, just a feeling I have about it. so I guess they were bubble too. He had a very strong game against Cinci. He is an excellent backup, who understands how to run an offense and make plays. I see no way the Brohm beats him out at this point. Fitz: $2,995,590 Trent: $465,200 Brohm and Brown I can't locate at the moment, but clearly are lower than Fitz. Probably lower than Trent.
DanInSouthBuffalo
1.Keith Ellison-useless as an LB in the new scheme. But a good special teams player. Gotta keep Moats & Coleman. CUT 2.Chad Simpson-has looked good but with the top three plus Joique Bell. Tough decision. Bell might not make it to the PS. CUT 3.Derek Schouman-a perennial injury waiting to happen. Would love to see more from Foschi and Andrew George. Cut or keep until Nelson is back. 4.James Hardy-the injuries and the dropsies don't help his case. Paraphrasing Gil Brandt: "Better basketball player than football. Runs poor routes". SEE YA!!! CUT 5.John McCargo-has looked better this pre-season. How many more chances does he get? The four DE's will be Stroud, Carrington, Edwards, and Johnson. CUT 6.Reggie Corner-on the bubble? Really? 7.Naaman Roosevelt-has some upside, definite practice squad material, CUT 8.Cary Harris-unless he's a special teams ace, can't keep five safeties. CUT 9.Ryan Fitzpatrick & 10.Brian Brohm-Fitz is more equipped to be a #2, Brohm has more upside, if we had a salary cap Fitz would be gone. FLIP A COIN!
