new flash to wateverdude Russia is not in France even if more or less on the same continent... So we have (i know we are the last with North Korea)real authentic communists, who, if you add their troskyian friends and far left buddies, have around 15% of the french voters with them. And well are true blue lunatics but are about the only ones in french politics not buying the ecological propaganda.

I didn't say anything about France. I thought you were going to get around to saying what I said you would say about the Russian connection to the memo leaks. My bad for guessing your next move. I far as French communists go, yes they do support the global warming BS or "climate protection" through the global justice movement or altermondialisme.

not really... in fact ecological issues are the main problems in the current discussions among the French leftists who are trying to build a common program hoping to beat the right in the 2012 elections. The ecologists are fighting the socialists on the nuclear issue (the socialists can no accept that france stop future nuclear plants projects) and the communists on the economical priorities (ecologists want a "no growth and all green economy" while the communists want a reindustrialisation and a "power of buying first" policy with higher salaries )

I find Euro politics to be far more interesting than ours. You at least give the kooks in your country a voice.

Imagine if the two parties here had to form coalitions to govern. Good God.

And here I thought all the voices in American politics are of kooks.

Why do you try to limit my conversation to French communists?

The Global Justice Movement of which the French Communists are part of is the soft sell arm of the communist party. Think of it as "Communist lite" or "Communism with training wheels". For the same reasons Liberals now call themselves progressives the Global Justice Movement can reach a wider audience who would normally be scared away by the communist label and or message. The Communists through the Global Justice Movement soft sell the idea of the redistribution of wealth from people and counties using global warming as a tool through cap and trade and other global warming schemes. Oh and don't forget the use of guilt as a motivator.

You're right! but the altermondialists here in France have been swallowed by the greens of the "euro ecology "party. Their main views are not only anti capitalistic and ecologist but they despise values like work, productivity, technical and scientific progress... while the old fashion communists oppose them with more classical left arguments based on work, production, sharing of the wealth produced, class struggle... and they are not surrending their voters without a fight!

Well, there was a time I could see myself smack in the middle of Dolly Parton and Dolly Parton.

Some wanted Sicily to become the US's 51st state, but i do think Berkley,Cal should be France's 101th "department"!(that's how we call administrative regions here)
