Just Jack
Is it easier/better than a payday loan place?
plenzmd1
Jack, I have used pawn shops to both get a loan and sell stuff back in the day. Very easy to work with, but with one consideration..your stuff will not get you eavn close to the $ amount you think. For instance, lets say you bring in a watch that you bought for $1,000, and you think is still close to that in worth . You might get a loan or sell it for $150-$200. Pawn shops are great if you need the money right nowfrom a sale or loan, or are sure you are going to repay the loan in a month or two, but suck from a value perspective. Also, in and out in 20 minutes if you can agree to a value on your item. In terms of the payday loan place, they were not around when I needed to go to the pawn shop. My sense is they have been regulated quite a bi in the last couple of years, at least in VA, and prolly better interetst rates than the pawn shop. But again, that is only a guess Edited August 29, 2010 by plenzmd1
