JoeFerguson Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 How sincere can you be if you're always friendly? How can you be friendly and nice to someone you don't even know?
Pete Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 (edited) Read Dale Carnegie. Try out his methods from the book and you will be amazed at how well your relationships are improved. Common sense stuff, but common sense is not that common, as is proved conclusively by this thread and that last line was not Dale Carnegie like Edited August 27, 2010 by Pete
aussiew Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 Being friendly to people isn't difficult at all if you're at peace with yourself.
el Tigre Posted August 27, 2010 Posted August 27, 2010 How sincere can you be if you're always friendly? How can you be friendly and nice to someone you don't even know? Being friendly to people is easy but it has it's limits. If someone I don't know is overly friendly to me I get suspicious. I guess what I try to be is cordial and respectful, but give people their space. Go eat a d-ck.

However, if delivered with insecurity it just comes off as approval seeking.

Simple answer-we expect the same treatment in return. That go's with the phrase "watch who you step on on the way up-he may be your boss tomorrow".

stevestojan Posted August 29, 2010 Posted August 29, 2010 If any of my friends were friendly or nice to me at ANY point in my life, I'd immediately call my doctor to find out what I'm dying from and why he told my friends before he told me. ...and that's the way I like it.
CowgirlsFan Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 (edited) How sincere can you be if you're always friendly? How can you be friendly and nice to someone you don't even know? To me being friendly is what a person should be single or not. It is just good common courtesy and a nice way to '''pay it forward'''. Edited August 30, 2010 by CowgirlsFan
GOBILLS78 Posted August 30, 2010 Posted August 30, 2010 I've found that being friendly gets you a long way in life. Being too friendly gets your ass kicked.
