brightgreen Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 I've never played fantasy football so I'm hoping for advice. There are 12 people in the league and we will be drafting 18 players. Every week we will start 1-qb 2-rb 3-wr 1-te 1-k 1-def. I'm hoping for some advice as to what order I should draft my players. 2rb then 1 qb then 2wr etc. Heres the scoring system: Scoring for Fantasy Football Playoff Pool QB’s Scoring Examples 0.2/1 completion 0.2/5 yds passing QB 0.1/1 yd rushing 24-38 320yds passing 3passing TD’s 1 int 0.1/2 yds receiving 4/12 rushing -2/Interception 4/TD Passing QB has 28.8 points! (4.8/completions,12.8/yards 6/TD Rushing/Receiving passing, 12/td’s, -2/int, 1.2/rushing) RB’s 0.2/1 rushing attempt RB 0.1/1 yd rush 16 carries 180 yds rushing 2 tds 0.2/5 yds passing 4 catches 27 yds 0.1/2 yds receiving 6/TD Passing, Rushing or Receiving RB has 34.5 points! (3.2/carries, 18 for yards, **No Points for receptions** 12 for td’s, and 1.3 / receiving yards) WR’s and TE’s 1/ Reception WR 0.1/1 yd receiving 6 catches for 82 yards 0.1/1 yd rushing 0.2/5 yds passing WR has 14.2 points! (6 from receptions, and 8.2 6/ TD Passing, Rushing or Receiving from yardage) **No Points for rushing attempts** Kickers -1/Missed FG -3/Missed PAT We go to 1/10 of a point. 1/ PAT Examples 1 yd rush = .1 pt 3/ FG 1 carry = .2 pts +1/ 40-44 +2/ 45-49 +3/ 50+ Def/Special Teams 2/Turnover 5/safety 6/TD 1/sack Pts Allowed 0 10pts 2/Turn Over 2-6 7pts 6/TD 7-10 5pts 1/sack 11-16 3pts 17-20 1pts 21-27 0pt 28-32 -1pts 33-39 -3pts 40-49 -7pts Over 50 / -10 Quote
The Jokeman Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 Regardless of scoring system the key to me is building depth at RB and WR since ultimately these positions make the most difference in winning week to week. I'd suggest you take a RB in Round 1 and Round 2-5 try and get WR, RB, WR, WR but order really all depends what's on the board. Also experience/proven talent at the WR position outweighs upside. Especially when looking at your starting lineup. Quote
brightgreen Posted August 28, 2010 Author Posted August 28, 2010 Thanks for the input Jokeman. I guess RB & WR are the most important Quote
