dollars 2 donuts Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/trainingcamp...tory?id=5476849 Not Bills related but hopefully he is alright I have loved ones who have suffered from migraines and honestly it seems almost paralyzing. I hope they can help him. I like this kid.
C.Biscuit97 Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 That's terrible to hear & I hope he is ok. Migraines are no joke & it sounds look ts going to have a big effect on his career. It's a shame because he's an exciting player.
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 Scary to think an athlete in the prime of his youth could just fall over, but wow.
BuffaloATL Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 Not Bills related but hopefully he is alright +1.
udonkey Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 Could it be that he was overwhelmed by the greatness that is Bret Favre?
KOKBILLS Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 Hope he's going to be OK...I really do... Not just because I Drafted him last night either...
Beerball Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 Could it be that he was overwhelmed by the greatness that is Bret Favre? Call for Tedy Bruschi. Hope the kid's ok, never had a migrane and I hope I never do experience one.
Bills!Win! Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 They are saying he collapsed, having migraine-like syptoms... I think he collapsed in awe of Brett Favre...
Heitz Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 From Schefter's Twitter: "Encouraging reports on health of Vikings WR Percy Harvin so far, fortunately, but it was unnerving for anyone who saw it." Also, lol @ ^
justnzane Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 hate to say, but those migraine symptoms are quite possibly post-concussion syndrome headaches. men in general don't suffer from migraines at the rate that women do. In the article, it says that he has dealt with them for a long time, but it could be something stemming from a concussion he may have had in his youth. I hate being the fear mongerer but it is really odd to see a young man in tip top shape collapse like this. Also, why does it always seem to be the Vikings that have players collapsing?
BobbyC81 Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 They are saying he collapsed, having migraine-like syptoms... I think he collapsed in awe of Brett Favre... LOL!! Beat me to it, although I wasn't sure how it would be received.
BobbyC81 Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/trainingcamp...tory?id=5476849 Not Bills related but hopefully he is alright Yeah, my last boss' 11 year old son collapsed at their 1st football practice of the year and didn't survive. He had an undetected heart defect.
Cugalabanza Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 It's possible that he's getting Cluster Headaches. These are related to migraine (vascular origin), but they come on more quickly, are more intensely painful and are more common among men. The onset of a classic migraine is more gradual--I don't think it would typically just make a guy collapse to the ground. More likely he would start to feel weird and then want to go lay down somewhere dark. But who knows?

The onset of a classic migraine is more gradual--I don't think it would typically just make a guy collapse to the ground. Cluster headaches come in waves, often at the same time of the year, and at the same time(s) everyday. Sounds like he gets these all the time. While it can happen, that is rare for cluster headache. Now, a cluster headached is some extreme pain, and when yu get them you tend to get on your hands and knees, rock back and forth, and hit your head agaist the floor. And that is common for about 90% of the folks who get them. They tend to last for 45-90 minutes, then your jaw usually hurts for the rest of the day.Never really heard of someone collapsing from them, but can see it as the pain is that intense.
starrymessenger Posted August 19, 2010 Posted August 19, 2010 Probably just me but I don't remember this being an issue when he was drafted. People seemed more concerned about possible substance abuse.
