DIE HARD 1967 Posted August 17, 2010 Posted August 17, 2010 You know guys, this is about my 15th head coaching change in 45 years. There is one thing that I think is worth mentioning here. A fast start is the key. Win a few games early and the sky is the limit. Lose, the players question the coaching, the draft, the GM and they slip into a season long coma. Somehow we need to beat those freakin Dolphins! -Diehard 1967
DIE HARD 1967 Posted August 17, 2010 Author Posted August 17, 2010 Yeah, that worked so well in 2008... Worked well in the Superbowl years. This is just a general thrend

The Pack & The Pats on their turf. Can you say 1 & 2 ? I doubt if we'll be beaming with confidence come October.
Leonidas Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 Worked well in the Superbowl years. This is just a general thrend Yeah, except we finished well in those years too. Methinks that might be part of the equation as well.
BillsWearPajamas Posted August 18, 2010 Posted August 18, 2010 Wow. Bills and fast in same sentence. And then, not to be seen as being the low homer on the totem pole, the author of this 'general thread' then equates the superbowl era Bills with this current crop of scrubs. Ugh...
Another Point of View Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 Thank you Die hard Wow. Bills and fast in same sentence. Now I see why he left....
Kelly the Dog Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 With this schedule, 2-2 would be a very fast start. At Green Bay in game two will be brutal. We would be good to beat the Fins and Jets at home. A win at NE would be a huge surprise. I would love to be 2-2 after four games, obviously. That would be an explosion out of the box.
bowery4 Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 Thanks for the post Die Hard, a win would be great beating NE and the Pack tho tough is always in the realm of the possible. Does Chan remind anyone else of Lou? "I expect to win".
DreReed83 Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 I don't see a fast start this year at all. This is going to be a really REALLY rough year but I do agree that we need to start fast and also FINISH STRONG. If we had an easier schedule, i could see us with a better record.
Peter Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 Getting out of the gate fast would be great for this team. Not only would it mean that we are winning, it would give the team a lot of confidence. I wonder how last year's team would have turned out if we had beaten the Pats* in the first game (as we should have but for a botched return and some bad penalties).
BuffaloBill Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 One game at a time but a 1-0 start would be lovely.
Peter Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 Especially against the Dolphins. One game at a time but a 1-0 start would be lovely.
Realist Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 I couldn't agree more that a fast start is the key to a good season. Unfortunately, this schedule is going to be pretty tough right out of the gate. If they do by chance, start out 3-2 or so, this could be a pretty damn good season.

Steely Dan Posted September 7, 2010 Posted September 7, 2010 I don't think starts are as important as finishes. It looks like the Bills have bought into Gailey's methods and I believe will stick with him all year. IMO, how they finish will be the key for this team. I'd rather have them lose the first four games but keep getting better and win the last four. That would give them greater confidence going into next year. JMO
