DC Tom Posted August 17, 2010 Share Posted August 17, 2010 thats actually mentioned in a chapter in the book Flags of Our Fathers. much better than the movie as well Earliest book I've seen it in is probably van der Vat's The Pacific War (still in print, good general history of the entire Pacific theater.
