stuckincincy Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 Yes, nothing like goes with a sausage like a $1,200-$1,500 bottle of wine. White or red, with tonight's plain soy burger on wheat roll with re-heated canned wax beans?
The Dean Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 White or red, with tonight's plain soy burger on wheat roll with re-heated canned wax beans? Soy burger? I have no idea what goes with that.
SageAgainstTheMachine Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 Soy burger? I have no idea what goes with that. I'd imagine an appletini or something.
stuckincincy Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 I'd imagine an appletini or something. I had to look that up. Vodka and a fruit juice. Perfect.
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 White or red, with tonight's plain soy burger on wheat roll with re-heated canned wax beans? Dude, really?
Chef Jim Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 White or red, with tonight's plain soy burger on wheat roll with re-heated canned wax beans? It's the middle of summer and you're eating canned beans?? Please......
Pine Barrens Mafia Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 It's the middle of summer and you're eating canned beans?? Please...... No chit...Nothing better than fresh yellow beans.
Chef Jim Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 No chit...Nothing better than fresh yellow beans. When I was back east last week the best thing I had was a simple steamed zucchini pulled right out of the garden.
Chef Jim Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 BTW I'll be prepping a pork shoulder tonight to put on the smoker tomorrow for pulled pork. Mmmmmmm.
stuckincincy Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 It's the middle of summer and you're eating canned beans?? Please...... Your kind words have always inspired me.
Whites Bay Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 Nothing better than peasant food. Oh, and to the hoi polloi that espouse these gourmet dinners in a thread like this, I say, BOO to you, sirs! My goodness! I feel so "booed"!! 2008 Clos du Bois North Coast Chardonnay tonight. Meh. Not bad, but I can't complain - my sister left it up here after the vacation, so it tastes like Nectar of the Gods.
The Senator Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 White or red, with tonight's plain soy burger on wheat roll with re-heated canned wax beans? I'd suggest a simple merlot - perhaps a '98 Petrus Pomerol.
Chef Jim Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 Best $7.00 bottle of wine I've ever had BTW if you look at how many they have at the SF store up until a couple of hours ago they had 13.
Chef Jim Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 I'd suggest a simple merlot - perhaps a '98 Petrus Pomerol. Pffffff....crap.
