cåblelady
By the way, what did you call your brother? 145898 I used to tell my mom and he'd always get in trouble.
SilverNRed
I remember you mentioned that earlier. I watched that episode over Thanksgiving weekend and thought about you and your uncle. CW 145908 Did you know the guy I'm talking about? His line was something like "it's a perfectly good engine if you just keep it tuned." Hopefully everyone keeps buying these DVDs and he can rake in many very small residual checks. I guess the whole experience of being on the set of that show was great though. All the 'stars' that he interacted with were cool and they really treated all the 'little actors' like him well. He had his own trailer and everything. Dante
I really love "Bladerunner" and "Alien". Im surprised no one has mentioned "Planet of the Apes" The original that is. I still get a kick out of "Escape from New York" as well.

Very cool He actually gets rididuals from DVD sales? Any idea how much? Is it even worth the gas to go to the bank?! CW

rockpile
John Carpenter's The Thing was a remake of the B&W movie The Thing (with James Arness as the alien). You have already hit most of my favorites: Star Wars The Day the Earth Stood Still Blade Runner Alien Fifth Element Planet of the Apes 2001, 2010 I liked both of the H.G. Wells adaptations - War of the Worlds and Time Machine - late 50's early 60's? Food of the Gods was a farce. I keep waiting for someone to do justice to any novel by Asimov, Bradbury or Heinlein
Greybeard
My favorite Non-Bills Sci Fi Movie is John Carpenter's "The Thing" which I believe is a remake of "It - the Terror from Space" My favorite Bills Science Fiction movie, however is "The Greatest Comeback." THAT movie is simply UNBELIEVABLE! 145891 I agree John Carpenter's "The Thing" is about as good as science fiction gets. It is one of my favorites although I doubt I could pick an all time favoite. But it is my all time favorite remake. Never thought they could do the original justice, but they did. Very cool 145948 Right! He's sort of in the middle of the pack in those shots. Originally the wardrobe people had him wearing this big WWI-era German helmet but they decided at the last minute not to do that because it looked, well, ridiculous. He actually gets rididuals from DVD sales? Any idea how much? Is it even worth the gas to go to the bank?! CW I don't know how much it is, but he gets a little bit. If it's enough to buy lunch once a month, that'd be pretty cool. Probably not, though.

Guest Guest
Blade Runner, Alien, 2001 and Forbidden Planet. As far as series go, I thought Space 1999 was kind of interesting, although I enjoyed the original Star Trek and the Next Generation more. I have always been amazed that there are not more and better sci-fi movies and tv series. Sci-fi is very popular and many sci-fi books are very interesting, imaginative and thought provoking. All of this seems to be lost in the translation into movies and tv.

It - the Terror from Beyond Space was the movie I saw as a kid where a spaceship landed on Mars and returned to earth with an Alien aboard. It was actually the precursor to Alien. If I had seen Sigourney Weaver as a little tyke, I probably would not have left the theatre. (not work safe).
