Reading Wawrow's article, I was reminded of how bad our starting offense looked last year in the pre-season. No Touchdowns! In the end, it cost Turk his job.

It always irked the hell out of me that after 2-3 series of total ineptness, Jauron would pull his starters. Avoiding injuries was always a priority rather than establishing some actual consistency. You can't tell me the starters had any type of confidence going into the opener.

I really hope Chan isn't like that. I was heartened to read that he refused to commit to how long his starters would play Friday.

I would leave them in until they accomplish something so they have something to build on.

Anyone agree?

Whether he actually follows through or not, Chan said he already told his first team (who he will not divulge) to "expect to play a little more than you might in a first pre-season game. This is a new offense, we need they need the work." I liked hearing that.

going into this game with a starting offensive line of meredith-levitre-hang-c. howard-chambers, if chan is waiting for a TD to pull the starters, they might have to play into the fourth quarter.

The offense looked pretty darn confident in the opener while they led the Patsies up until the very end. Wasn't their fault the defense couldn't defense that pass to the TE twice or that Leodis fumbled the KO.

They also looked very confident the following week when they trounced the Buccaneers in the home opener. Trent was starting to look like Joe Montana again.

After that, not so much.
