The Dean Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 link Wonder if BO will go to his funeral like he did Kennedy's. I seriously doubt it. Might just watch it on the Intertubes. If this is true, RIP Ted.
GG Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 link Wonder if BO will go to his funeral like he did Kennedy's. I seriously doubt it. Landing at the memorial airport?
SageAgainstTheMachine Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 RIP Ted, if this is true...still unconfirmed His career was never a dump truck, always a series of tubes.
Jim in Anchorage Posted August 10, 2010 Author Posted August 10, 2010 Landing at the memorial airport? Actually I kind of liked old uncle Ted, but that airport naming thing got under my skin a bit. I had never heard of a public facility named after a living politician before.
GG Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 Actually I kind of liked old uncle Ted, but that airport naming thing got under my skin a bit. I had never heard of a public facility named after a living politician before. Really? It's standard practice in the Northeast.

I had never heard of a public facility named after a living politician before. Didn't it also have something to do with his wife being killed in a plane crash there (almost killing him as well)? I read somewhere that in 1978 he predicted that he would die in a plane crash. The former head of NASA was also on the plane. Sucks.
erynthered Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 I swear I saw this topic in the who killed the Shoble thread thats in the Customer Service fourm, Jim.
The Dean Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 I read somewhere that in 1978 he predicted that he would die in a plane crash. And, like THAT he becomes a suspect! Sorry....

It was there for all of 5 seconds before I deleted it. I was testing the link in a place I thought no one would see it.

stuckincincy Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 Wonder what the cost overruns where like. Recalling the the interest rates back then - at least 17%
bills44 Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 The former head of NASA was also on the plane. Sucks. O'Keefe was at the Maxwell School while I was at SU. Apparently, he survived.

Always surprised they didn't name a missile sub after him, what with their motto being "We Hide With Pride". (But seriously...Carter was a sub officer, so naming one after him isn't senseless.)
