buffalo_bills Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 http://sports.espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/news/story?id=5449302 Looks like he might not even play for the jets this season. This is what happens when you go wild spending money on free agents like LT and Taylor. Im sure the problem is that they cant offer the amount of money that Revis wants, because they are OVERSPENDING. Maybe the Jets arent so mighty after all

John Cocktosten Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 Maybe Lee Evans will get a catch this year vs the Jets.
berndogg Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 I'd love it if Revis doesn't play for the Jets at all this year. Not gonna happen, this is just like asante samuel and jason peters, he'll be back, hopefully missing camp slows him down though

H2o Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 I'd love it if Revis doesn't play for the Jets at all this year. +1 and I'd love to watch the so highly touted Jets flop without their star CB.
Steely Dan Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 The argument that a bunch of guys will want new contracts if Revis gets a new one is weak. I'd give it to him, why not it's an uncapped year, and when they announce his new contract I'd say that he's the best at his position in the league and we really had to do this. That way anybody who hasn't made the pro-bowl will be eliminated from demands and they could also, very easily, tell anyone else that they are not the best player at their position. If he doesn't report today then he can dig for a long, long time. The extra year before FA doesn't matter. He's looking for a long term deal anyway, I would imagine. The problem they have created for themselves now is that if they give in now it looks like they caved to pressure. If they had given him a raise when he first approached it would look like they respected his play and felt he needed to be compensated for outplaying his contract. JMO It's possible, but unlikely, they'd trade him. Before anybody gets too excited I would say there is a 95% chance they wouldn't trade him within the division and a 75% chance they wouldn't trade him within the conference.

justnzane Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 I am waiting for the lets trade Kelsey/Whitner/Lynch for Revis comment. I'd love if it happened just so Bill in NYC can have an "another CB" post while he is foaming at the mouth
Green Lightning Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 I am waiting for the lets trade Kelsey/Whitner/Lynch for Revis comment. Beat me to it! But all three? Couldn't just Lynch be in the deal? We need to save the other two to trade for a pro bowl LT!
Stealth Posted August 10, 2010 Posted August 10, 2010 Maybe Lee Evans will get a catch this year vs the Jets. Lee Evans vs the jets. Lee Evans over his career has had his best games vs gang green. vs NY Jets 2 5 106 53.0 21.2 38 8.2 6 Oct 18 @ NYJ W 16-13 4 68 17.0 37 1 13 Dec 3 NYJ L 13-19 1 38 38.0 38 0 Week 13 was not one of his better games vs the jets, but he generally rips that team up
