Alphadawg7 Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 Just because you say Fitzpatrick is horrible, doesn't make him horrible. The truth is we were able to win games with him in there last year. He has intangibles like intelligence & leadership that you're totally ignoring. The coaches who see him every day and are around him about 12/6 know a lot more than anyone here. He is exactly what every team wants in their second string QB-an intelligent player who can win you games when your 1st stringer is out. He may not look pretty to you out there, but he gets the job done. If he was waived, he would be with another team within 24 hours. Um, you saying he is not horrible doesnt make him not horrible either, so whats the point of that statement? You claimng he is this or that doesnt change the fact that he is wilidly inaccurate at times and very inconsistent. It doesnt change the fact that he wasnt statistically very good here or in Cincy. As far as your claim about him being on a team within 24 hours, that is a pipe dream. For someone who just told that other poster they must not know how NFL teams are put together, you sure are way off on this boast. If he gets cut, its not likely happening until late in the preseason once the staff has had some in game play to aid in evaluatling these QB's. At the time he is cut, teams will already have their back up QB's in place and the bulk of their roster set. He is not going to be seen as a major upgrade over many teams backups and he definitely is not going to be seen as a guy they can groom to be a full time starter. So, they are not going to cut needed players at another position to bring in a backup QB who does NOT know their system just before the season starts. Fitz will start getting some interest once injuries start happening, but there is no way there is a demand for him like you are trying to say there will be just before the preseason starts. Heck, he wasnt even signed that fast when he was a FA in the offseason and could come in and learn the system before camp.

It was something like the 1st day of free agency that he was permitted to sign. What are you talking about?
