Buffan00 Posted December 4, 2004 Author Posted December 4, 2004 Are you talking about Crohn's disease? 145327 yes Crohns disease.
Golden Wheels Posted December 4, 2004 Posted December 4, 2004 Sorry to hear that BuffFan00. Did you know Jags' backup QB David Garrard was diagnosed with it this spring, had some of his intestine removed in May, and was back playing this fall? That's one tough dude. I hope you can find the right combination of meds and treatment to help you too.

BADOLBILZ Posted December 4, 2004 Posted December 4, 2004 If so, what meds are you on? And how long have you had it?? 145310 A good friend of mine has Crohns. He was diagnosed when he was like 10-11 years old(he's 34 now), and he's had a very hard time, spent a good deal of time sick or in the hospital and had some disappointing surgeries. The good news as I understand it, is that medical science is beginning to make some progress in treating Crohns, which is hopefully good news for you, but probably too late for my friend to benefit. I recently saw a commercial on TV for a new prescription drug for the treatment of Crohns, can't remember the name. My friend is one unlucky SOB, his wife was diagnosed with Crohns too. Doctors couldn't believe it, a man with Crohns marries a seemingly unaffected woman, then she gets it too. What are the odds? Greater than I thought? Seems like more young people are getting diagnosed with what was once a disease that mostly struck the elderly, according to my friend. Here's hoping it becomes a more manageable illness for all you guys.
Guest Guest_BillsfaninMD_* Posted December 4, 2004 Posted December 4, 2004 I have had chron's for over 30 years and for the last 2 years I have been on Remicade. It is an IV infusion and it had worked wonders for me. I was in feeling better. Recently the treatment I had hasn't worked as well but it still is better than going though all the fevers, dehydration and so on. Ask your Doctor about it. There are some risks from taking it but I feel it is worth it. Good Luck.
